PurePower®
Family of Engines
This Changes EverythingTM
PW800 EngineThe new-generation PurePower PW800 engine family for large, long-range business jets raises the bar on performance and economics by taking advantage of the latest material, aerodynamic and design technologies. The engine incorporates advanced fan, compressor, turbine and low-emissions TALON™ combustion systems for exceptional fuel consumption, future thrust-growth capability and improved environmental performance. The PW800 engine will surpass International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) emissions standards by up to 50 percent for nitrous oxide and 35 percent for carbon monoxide and will achieve low unburned hydrocarbons and smoke emissions. The PW800 engine is also designed for low noise, well below ICAO Stage 4 standards. This new-generation engine also comes equipped with Pratt & Whitney Canada diagnostics capability for proactive maintenance and longer time on wing. The PurePower PW800 engines represent the most recent evolution in Pratt & Whitney Canada’s long line of market leaders. In all, more than one half billion flight hours have been achieved under Pratt & Whitney Canada power.

Pratt & Whitney PurePower® Engine FamilyProven technology for double-
digit reductions in operating
costs. Thrust capabilities
from 10,000 to 40,000 pounds.
The PurePower engine family
from Pratt & Whitney reduces
fuel consumption, noise and
environmental emissions—
factors that improve flight
paths, cut emission tariffs
and reduce flight time. It’s all
about lower costs and better
environmental performance.
1
75% QuieterThe PurePower PW1000G engine reduces aircraft noise footprints by 50 to 75 percent. Operating 15 to 20dB below today’s most stringent standard (ICAO Stage 4) brings a competitive advantage for operators:
• Savings from lower noise fees• Increased operations within curfews• Optimized flight tracks through preferred
runway access
$1,500,000 Lighter…on your bottom line. That’s how much operators could save, per aircraft per year, versus today’s best airplanes. The PW1000G engine addresses the whole picture—fuel, emissions, noise and maintenance—to give you the lowest possible cash operating cost.
Savings based on $2.50 per gallon average fuel price expected
in 2013-2014.
PW1000G Engine>16% LeanerThe PurePower PW1000G engine improves fuel burn by more than 16 percent versus today’s engines from regional jets to mainline single-aisle aircraft. That alone could save airlines nearly $1,000,000 per aircraft per year.
700,000 GreenerThe PurePower PW1000G engine cuts carbon emissions by 3,000 tonnes per aircraft per year. That’s equal to the effect of planting more than 700,000 trees. With carbon trading on the horizon, one PW1000G-powered aircraft could save operators tens of thousands of dollars annually. PurePower technology has successfully been tested with alternative fuel, so it will be ready to power aircraft well into the 21st century.
50% CleanerPratt & Whitney’s TALON™ X combustor slashes polluting emissions. The PW1000G engine will surpass the most stringent standards (CAEP/6) by 50 percent for nitrous oxide (NOx).

Incorporating Advanced Technologies Throughout
The PurePower® PW1000G Engine
In the PurePower PW1000G engine, the fan drive gear system allows the engine’s fan to operate at slower speeds than the low-pressure compressor and turbine, increasing bypass ratio and resulting in significantly lower fuel consumption, emissions and noise.
