4 PURCO SA Annual Conference & Expo | 24-26 October 2018
The 2018 PURCO SA Conference and Exhibition promises to challenge and excite participants, while strengthening supplier-buyer relationships and providing a unique promotional platform for exhibitors.
The Conference’s overarching threads of People, Planet and Profit will be brought together to reflect the potential of building a better world, while demonstrating that doing well and doing good can be complementary parts of every organisation’s strategy.
The triple bottom line programme will deliver implementable new ideas and methods for increasing sustainable vitality through economic prosperity, environmental quality and social fairness.
PEOPLE
The PURCO SA Annual Conference has a tradition of helping delegates refine their purpose and find renewed vigor to make a positive difference within their organisations. The 2018 programme frames the conversation around sustainable people relationships, with a positive impact on supplier-buyer engagement.
The programme also builds on last year’s conference to explore ways in which delegates can incorporate enterprise development in their organisations. It will encourage conversations to unlock the full potential of buyers to be effective tools for transformation, helping their supplier partners grow while ensuring their institutions thrive.
PLANET
The purchasing power of university procurement and finance professionals, if well coordinated, has the potential to drive sweeping changes across environmentally friendly supply chains. Sustainable procurement encompasses the economic and environmental impacts of spending while allowing organisations to effectively meet their needs.
At the same time, by identifying the hurdles to sustainable purchasing, suppliers can achieve a clearer understanding of products that have the least impact on the environment, with better service and pricing.
PURCO SA’s 2018 Conference will share practical case studies and facilitate conversations to identify how universities and suppliers can develop collaborative, efficient, eco-friendly procurement processes.
PROFIT
Financial challenges are increasingly a consideration for higher education institutions, and consequently their supplier partners.
The concept of profitability encompasses financial sustainability in the case of higher educational institutions, and improved bottom line returns for their suppliers.
To help deliver these objectives, the Conference Programme is designed to provide extensive face to face engagement between suppliers and buyers, while delivering practical programme content.
Among other topics the conference will consider how universities can implement third stream income programmes, including initiatives that complement their enterprise development and sustainability objectives.
