Do not make modifications of any kind to thisappliance.

Do not expose this appliance to the weather (rain,sun, etc.)

Regularly inspect the appliance for visible defects.If any faults are found, do not operate theappliance but contact Vortice* immediately.

If the appliance does not function correctly ordevelops a fault, contact Vortice* immediately andensure that only genuine original Vortice sparesareused for any repairs.

Should the appliance be dropped or suffer a heavyblow, have it checked immediately by Vortice*.

The appliance must be installed by a professionally qualifiedelectrician.

The electrical system to which the appliance isconnected must conform to applicable standards.

The appliance is double insulated and thereforedoes not need to be earthed.

The electrical power supply/socket to which theappliance is to be connected must be able toprovide the maximum electrical power required bythe appliance. Otherwise contact an electrician tomake the necessary modifications beforeproceeding.

A multi-polar switch must be used to install theappliance. The gap between the switch contacts

DESCRIPTION AND USE ENGLISH

The high-tech Vortice appliance you havepurchased is an axial extractor fan designed toexpel air from small and medium-sized rooms.The "LL" models have ball bearings thatguarantee at least 30,000 hours of silent, trouble-free mechanical operation.

All the models have splash protection IPX4 andare thus ideal for installing in high-humidityenvironment.Maximum performance and long product servicelife are ensured if the appliance is used correctly incompliance with the following instructions.

must be no less than 3 mm. Switch off the appliance at the installation's main

switch: a) if the appliance does not functioncorrectly; b) before cleaning the outside of theappliance; c) if the appliance is not to be used forany length of time.

Connections not provided for by Vortice. In thisconfiguration the appliance runs continuously (fig. 11A/1). In this configuration the appliancestarts and stops automatically depending on thehumidity level in the room in which it is located.Manual over-ride is not possible (fig. 11A/2).

The room must have an adequate source ofreplacement air for this appliance to functioneffectively. Moreover, if there is any non-sealedcombustion based appliance such as a waterheater, gas stove, etc. in the same room, airreplacement must be sufficient for all appliancesto work effectively together.

The appliance must either exhaust directly to theoutside or into a short duct (max 400 mm inlength to ensure certified performance). Efficiencylosses will occur if the appliance is installed inducting subject to any appreciable back pressure.

B. Vortice Punto TIMER NORMAL / AUTOMATICThis model is equipped with a timer factory-set fora minimum operating time of 3 minutes. The timermay be set at between 3 and 20 minutes by

adjusting the trimmer (see fig. 13). The applianceswitches on automatically a few seconds after thelight is switched on and continues to run for the settime after the light is switched off.

C. Vortice Punto PIR NORMAL / AUTOMATICThis model is equipped with an electronic circuitand sensor that switches it on for a preset period oftime adjustable from 3 to 20 minutes (see fig. 16)whenever it detects the presence of a person withinits range of sensitivity.

clean (i.e. free of grease, soot, chemical andcorrosive agents, and explosive or flammablemixtures) and must not exceed a temperature of50C (122F).

Keep the appliances inlet and outlet grilles free toensure an optimum flow of air.

Install the appliance so that the impeller isinaccessible from the air outlet side as verified bycontact with the Test Finger, in compliance withthe current safety regulations. If this is notpossible, the relevant protection accessory mustbe installed.

N.B.If the appliance is installed across a wall andwall tiling, to ensure correct operation a spacermust be fitted to compensate for anydifferences in the surface levels.

The appliance can also be installed on a ceiling. For ceiling mounting a special gasket containedin a kit to be ordered separately must be used inorder to maintain a protection rating of IPX4. Do not install the appliance on a ceiling withoutfirst inserting the relevant gasket.

D. Vortice Punto Pull Cord NORMAL / AUTOMATICThis model is equipped with a pull-cord forswitching it on and off manually.

E. Vortice Punto T HCS NORMAL / AUTOMATICThis model has a preset humidity sensing circuitthat switches it on when the relative humidityexceeds 65%. The circuit is also equipped with atimer that can be set at between 3 and 20 minutesby adjusting the trimmer (see fig. 14). The unitswitches on automatically a few seconds after thelight is switched on and continues to run for thepreset period of time after the light is switched off.

F. Vortice Punto MHC NORMAL / AUTOMATICThis model has an MHC microprocessor system formonitoring relative humidity. The unit isprogrammed so that it switches on when roomtemperature reaches 20C and relative humidity

exceeds 65%. The microprocessor monitors roomtemperature and humidity constantly, calculatingthe average temperature over a 48 hour period.This procedure allows the microprocessor to setthe optimum stop time automatically. This model isalso equipped with a timer that can be set atbetween 3 and 20 minutes by adjusting the trimmer(see fig. 15).

Vortice Punto 12 VOLTNORMAL / AUTOMATICIMPORTANT: USE EXCLUSIVELY WITH AVORTICE 12V POWER SUPPLY UNITThis model features Class III construction, i.e.electrical safety is based on the use of a safety lowvoltage power supply - a condition that isguaranteed only when the product is used inconjunction with VORTICE GA 12V - 12V T - 12V P- 12V MHC - 12V HCS power supply units.
