PUMPKIN TAPESTRY APPLIQUE Tapestry Technique: work with two colours at the same time and change colour when indicated on the graph. Both yarns advance together at each stitch. The stitch worked in colour A hides the colour B yarn on the inside until the change is indicated. All of the applique is worked in SC.

Work from right to left and turn the work at the end of each row. Work one CH ST at the end of each row to raise it up (does not count as a ST).

When the graph has been completed, work a row of SC around the tapestry pumpkin in black. When the border row has been completed, cut the yarn leaving a long thread to sew the applique pumpkin onto the front of the waistcoat.

TIPAttach the applique to the waistcoat first using pins so that it doesn’t move and is easier to sew on.
