An example I found was when it showed which character was talking out of the two protagonists. Another example I found was when we first see the waitress serving the table, we see a close up of her face to see her emotion and her facial expression. Another shot that was featured in the title credits was an establishing shot which shows the setting of the title credits. Featuring in this shot was the background and the items where the scene was taking place. Also, another shot I found used within the title credits was a two shot this was used to show both of the characters in one shot this is the same as the establishing shot. A point of view shot was used only once this was when we see the waitress pour coffee into the woman’s cup through the man’s eyes. One camera technique that I identified was track shot this was used to go past the woman and closer to the man. Also, another technique I found was zoom, same again, this

Visual Effects & Colour Scheme

The lighting used was high key, the diner the title credits was set in, was light inside. You could also argue that there was some back lighting coming from the blinds behind the two protagonists making the scenery high key lighting.

Genre Conventions Pulp Fiction, I believe is an action genre film, I think this because the two protagonists use a lot of strong language, they are planning to steal from an American diner, also the title credits scene contains a shot of the protagonists holding guns in a threatening manner towards the customers we cannot see on the screen.

Narrative At the beginning of the title credits we first see the two protagonists sat in an American diner eating breakfast. Later on we find out more about these characters such as; the woman and the man both have history of doing robberies, but at the beginning of the title credits we hear the man saying that he wants to no longer be a part of holding hostages and stealing from businesses.

Editing Techniques The editing techniques that were featured in the opening scene were cutaways this was used to cut from the shot of the man to woman. Another editing technique I found was eye-line match, this was when you see the two characters talking to each other.
