When selecting a puller it isimportant to consider 3basic specifications:

1. The Capacity:

is the amount of force thepuller is capable ofproducing.Typically, the capacityrequired for a job can bedetermined by using theshaft diameter of the partbeing pulled.For manual pullers, thecenter bolt diameter of thepuller should be at least halfthe diameter of the shaftbeing pulled from.For hydraulic pullers, thecapacity in tons should be0,28 to 0,4 times the shaftdiameter in mm. Use thefollowing chart:

2. The Reach:

Application Tip

In determining the correctmanual puller capacity foryour application, use thefolllowing rule:

The center bolt diameter of the pullershould be at least 1/2 the diameter of theshaft being pulled on.

Example:

A part being pulled from a shaft with adiameter of 38 mm would require a pullerwith a center bolt diameter of at least 19 mm.
