By the time you receive this newsletter, the annual premier event of our association will have come and gone! The PICA Awards Banquet is about honoring the tremendous talent and craftsmanship the companies of our association complete in the marketplace every day!
Congratulations to all who participated and won!
There are exciting things taking place in our association that I’d like to share with you.
The rising cost of Health Care continues to be a line item cost that no one seems to be able to control. Your association has engaged with other similar Print Industry associations to secure an opportunity for all of us to reduce Health Care costs through a combined effort.
While we are too early in the game to determine the actual savings that will be available, industry averages show that this plan can potentially mitigate the management of Health Care costs by an average of 8%.
However, it is very important that you participate in the census that’s about to kick off. Your participation in the census DOES NOT COMMIT YOU TO PARTICIPATION in any future program! Our goal is to measure the amount of interest and, when all required governmental approvals have been completed, the cost benefits will be shared.
Participation will require active and up-to-date membership in PICA. We hope this will drive new membership and provide an incredible benefit for our existing members! So, when the census request comes your way, take a minute and share your information!
Please take advantage of this opportunity! This is one more way your association is supporting you, our membership.

Salem One Acquires Postmark Inc. Salem One, Inc., one of the largest print-based corporate communication companies in the Southeast, announced it has acquired Postmark Inc., a full-service direct marketing company also based in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem One provides a broad scope of corporate brand communications solutions in the areas of Direct Marketing, Packaging, Technology, Print and Logistic solutions. Salem One and Postmark have been trusted business partners for years, with similar innovative, client-focused corporate cultures that make the combination a natural fit.
“We are two strong, successful companies that together harness unique capabilities to positively impact the bottom line results of our clients,” said Phil Kelley, Jr., President and CEO of Salem One. “We are pleased to strengthen our regional commitment with the addition of the highly respected local Postmark brand. Meanwhile, we continue to grow our presence nationally with brand dominant, consumer-focused organizations.”
This acquisition, along with positive organic growth, expands Salem One’s position as the largest independently owned print-based corporate communication company headquartered in North and South Carolina.
“Postmark will operate as a division of Salem One as we ensure seamless integration for clients,” said Postmark President Jon Bowman. “We do not anticipate any changes in personnel, and know our clients will quickly enjoy the tremendous major advantages we will bring to their direct marketing needs through this corporate combination.”
Salem One has also committed to major capital investment initiatives with FujiFilm and Komori America Corporation to support their growing regional and national client portfolio. These investments come as the Printing Impressions 400 shows Salem One continuing to climb the rankings of the top companies in this space.
Salem One, Inc. has been recognized nationally by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America and listed in the Fast 50 by the Triad Business Journal.
