A journalism instructor once told me that if you take a lot of pictures, one or two will be
okay. When I take pictures I live by that adage, made cost effective by digital photography.
These fotos were taken in two locations in which you cannot take a bad photograph, the Willow
City Loop early on a spring morning, and Hawaii, no matter which island.
The Willow City Loop in the springtime is an experience to be remembered. Taken from
either direction, the Loop is spectacular, but in the early morning entering the Loop from Willow
City will bring you quickly into its beauty. Please remember that some people live in the valley
and use the road to get places and don't park where you block the road.
The photos from Hawaii were taken on the eastern shores of O’ahu and the “Big Island”
of Hawaii. Many were taken around Hilo -- the cover photo is the bridge at Liliuokalani
Gardens, in Hilo.
Willow City Loop in Springtime
Other than the stinkeye you’ll get from the natives who actually use the road for essential
travel, it's a great trip in the springtime. Go early in the morning.
