Name

• My dance music magazine is going to be entitled, 'Euphoria’. I decided to choose this name because the definition of the word, ‘Euphoria’ is, ‘A feeling of great happiness or well being’. And this is exactly what I want my magazine to do to my target audience, make the magazine bring them happiness and I also think dance music creates euphoria and I think this word overall fits perfectly with the genre of dance music.

Price

• The price of music magazine is going to be, £1.99. Although my poll junkie showed that most people wanted the magazine to be priced at £1, I think that it is obvious they are going to choose the lowest price therefor I decided to price the magazine at, £1.99. I thought this price was more reasonable for a music magazine and is not to low that people will think the quality of the magazine is poor.

Positioning Statement

• My positioning statement will be: ‘Back by dope demand’. I have chosen this statement because of the following reasons:

• Its uses jargon that is suitable for my target audience by using the word ‘dope’ which is another word for great or good.

• It is also the name of a dance song by King Bee.• It shows that dance music is back and has an

appealing impact because of it shortness.• Overall I think that it sounds successful.

Distribution

• My Music magazine will be sold at local Franchises such as supermarkets including, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons and Tesco. I think this will improve the music magazines popularity because the magazine will be sold to a wide customer base, which would increase the magazines revenue.

Frequency of publication

• The music magazine will be sold once every two weeks in order for new gossip and news on dance music and inspiration to be collected for each magazine to include. I think that this is the perfect amount of time for each magazine to include interesting information and it is also affordable for customers in comparison for the magazine coming out every week. More customers are likely to collect the music magazine if it is brought out less frequently because it is cheaper.

Rationale

• The aims of the magazine are to:• Stand out to its target audience.• Included interesting images and information.• Become a popular music magazine in general.• Look appealing and include special features such as

quizzes or giveaways for the customers.• Have a successful composition for example, not to

plane and not to busy to the readers eye.• Make the font easy to read and include clear pictures.

Style, layout and colour

• Style: The magazine will include graphology of dance related objects such as DJ decks and headphones in order to appeal to the target audience of Dance enthusiasts. It will also include a variety of different san and serif fonts in order to be clear and interesting to read.

• Layout: Their will be a cover page with a picture of an action shot of a model remixing dance music using the correct equipment. There will then be a contents page and a double page spread that will include graphology and interesting text.

• Colour: The colour will be presented by not including much of the ‘pop’ colors such as purple and pink for example which are stereotypically aimed at little girls. It will include subtle colors such as green and red.
