Public speaking is the process and act of speaking or giving a lecture to a
group of people in a structured, deliberate manner intended to inform,
influence, or entertain a listening audience.
Why FEAR???• You may be judged by People, and
JUDGED BADLY.• You may feel like a fool.• You might make mistakes and lose
your way.• You might be extremely humiliated.• They wont get what you are trying to
say.• They wont like you.
Strategies to Reduce Fear
• Know your Audience.• Know your Topic.• Learn to Relax.• Visualize a successful speech.• Practice.• Evaluate yourself.
PREPARATION
• Selection of topic.• Research.• Plan a Script.• Make the presentation.• Make Bullet notes.• Rehearse.
PRACTICE
• Practice in front of mirror or to your friends.
• Read it out loud.• Edit your writing.• Read it out loud again.• Put it into your presentation.• Practice again.
AppearanceAppearance is important as ‘First Impression
matters’Dress appropriately• Avoid wrinkle dress• Wear a Formal dress or business suit• Empty pockets• Leave hand bag at your seat• Decent colour• Tailored look gives more authority• Choose comfortable shoes
