Accreditation #102 OHIO FIRE & EMS INSTRUCTOR (60 HR) @ Apollo Rm. 606 Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays May 4-18, 2015 8:30-5 PM COST: $290 (includes books) Books: Jones & Bartlett- Fire Service Instructor 2 nd Edition textbook & workbook Fire Instructor Prerequisites : Possess a current firefighter certificate in good standing; In the preceding 7 years, have at least 5 years of experience as a certified firefighter; Pass instructor knowledge examination at the firefighter II level; and Comply with OAC 4765-21-03. *Firefighter II knowledge exam can be scheduled at Apollo. EMS Instructor Prerequisites : Possess a certificate as a FR, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, RN or PA; In the preceding 7 years, have at least 5 years of experience as a FR, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, RN or PA; Pass the instructor knowledge examination at the level of certification within last 3 years, (RN & PA tests at Medic level); NREMT ASSESSMENT EXAM Pass practical skills exams, administered under the auspices of the sponsoring institution, at the level of certification within last 3 years, (RN & PA tests at Medic level); and Comply with OAC 4765-18-05. *EMS Instructor Candidate practical skills exam can be completed at Apollo on either Wednesday, April 22 nd 12-8 PM or Thursday, April 30 th 2-4 PM & 7-8 PM. Apollo will be offering Fire Instructor, EMS Instructor, Assistant Fire Instructor, and Assistant EMS Instructor courses in May. Attached are flyers with information for all of the classes. The setup of the courses does allow for students to get both their Fire and EMS Instructor certifications at the same time if they’d like.
