I. Introduction of Attendees

A list of 32nd Coordination Meeting attendees, indicating the meetings they attended, has been

incorporated into this document.

II. Chairman’s Remarks – Jim Kabbara, FAA

Thanks to all of those who participated in the 32nd MMPDS Coordination Meeting held in Scottsdale, Arizona. I felt back home in my adopted state of Arizona and the only sorrow I had was that I did not have the chance to go down to Tucson to visit my University of Arizona campus. As we have gotten accustomed, Battelle team did another superb job of organizing and managing the week of activities. This meeting was a very memorable meeting in many respects not the least of which was the surprise celebration of Mark Freisthler upcoming retirement from FAA. Mark had his great technical marks on MMPDS success. Mark Freisthler served as submarine navy sailor then he worked with Boeing Seattle before he joined FAA Transport Aircraft office. Mark will hang his engineering hat in March of 2019. I want to personally thank my friend and colleague Mark for his many years of dedicated effort to the MMPDS especially to his leading effort of volume II that deals with Process Intensive Material (PIM) or engineered materials such as Additive Manufacturing (AM).

Mark James of FAA small aircraft office and Sam Cordner of NASA will co-chair the Emerging technology working Group (ETWG). They will continue working on developing the content of Volume II of the MMPDS Handbook. I thank Mark, Sam and all of the MMPDS members who volunteered to support this ETWG important work. This ETWG activity, in my opinion, is a significant breakthrough that keeps the MMPDS a dynamic source of material information.

Again, thank you for attending the 32st MMPDS Coordination Meeting. Your dedication to maintaining MMPDS as the premier source in the world for metallic material properties used in the design of aerospace structures is most appreciated. I look forward to seeing everyone at the 33rd MMPDS Coordination Meeting.

Thank you, Jim Kabbara
