Community Care Facilities Licensing Program

Health Protection

The residential care facilities for adults that are listed here are licensed by the Fraser Health Authority under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act.

The contents of this list is updated frequently.

Anyone providing care for more than 2 persons (unless a sibling group) who are not related to the caregiver is required to have a valid Community Care Facility Licence.

Licensing Officers conduct monitoring inspections and investigate complaints that a licensed adult care facility may not be complying with the minimum health and safety

standards set out in provincial licensing regulation.

Licensed residential care facilities for adults are categorized as follows:

Hospice Care: Refers to a facility, other than a specialized residential care facility, licensed under the Act to provide care to 3

to 6 persons. Residents are primarily in care due to the aging process.

Mental Health & Substance Abuse: Refers to a facility, other than a specialized residential care facility, licensed under the Act to provide care to 7

or more persons. Residents are primarily in care due to the aging process.

Long Term Care: Refers to a residential care home that provides care for persons with an addiction, a physical, mental health

or developmental disability, or a chronic or progressive condition, that is not primarily due to the aging process.

Community Living: Refers to a facility licensed under the Act to provide care to 7 or more persons with an addiction, a physical,

mental health or developmental disability, or a chronic or progressive condition, that is not primarily due to the

aging process.

Acquired Brain Injury: Refers to a facility licensed under the Act to provide care to 7 or more persons with an addiction, a physical,

mental health or developmental disability, or a chronic or progressive condition, that is not primarily due to the

aging process.

Community Care Facilities Licensing Program

Health Protection

The residential care facilities for adults that are listed here are licensed by the Fraser Health Authority under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act.

The contents of this list is updated frequently.

Anyone providing care for more than 2 persons (unless a sibling group) who are not related to the caregiver is required to have a valid Community Care Facility Licence.

Licensing Officers conduct monitoring inspections and investigate complaints that a licensed adult care facility may not be complying with the minimum health and safety

standards set out in provincial licensing regulation.

Licensed residential care facilities for adults are categorized as follows:

Hospice Care: Refers to a facility, other than a specialized residential care facility, licensed under the Act to provide care to 3

to 6 persons. Residents are primarily in care due to the aging process.

Mental Health & Substance Abuse: Refers to a facility, other than a specialized residential care facility, licensed under the Act to provide care to 7

or more persons. Residents are primarily in care due to the aging process.

Long Term Care: Refers to a residential care home that provides care for persons with an addiction, a physical, mental health

or developmental disability, or a chronic or progressive condition, that is not primarily due to the aging process.

Community Living: Refers to a facility licensed under the Act to provide care to 7 or more persons with an addiction, a physical,

mental health or developmental disability, or a chronic or progressive condition, that is not primarily due to the

aging process.

Acquired Brain Injury: Refers to a facility licensed under the Act to provide care to 7 or more persons with an addiction, a physical,

mental health or developmental disability, or a chronic or progressive condition, that is not primarily due to the

aging process.
