Learning Assessment Results: Management Major

Summary of Results from Implementing Direct Measures of Student Learning:

12

1. Summary of Results for Direct Measure 1: CROSS-FUNCTIONAL EXAM Students had a good understanding of the various functions of management, marketing, and communications, but did not have a good understanding of CIS, Accounting, Finance, Law or Ethics. Scores ranges from a low of 1 out of 8 questions for the function of International and CIS to a high of 8 out of 8 for the function of marketing.

N=7 Functional Area Percentage of students achieving an acceptable score Finance 3/7 =43% Accounting 2/7=29% Management 6/7 =85% Marketing 7/7 =100% Ethics 4/7=57% Law 3/7=43% Communications 7/7=100%

CIS 1/7=14%

International 1/7=14%

2. Summary of Results for Direct Measure 2: COMPREHENSIVE EXAM Students did not do as well on the comprehensive exam as on the case study. 3 out of 7 students demonstrated acceptable scores. This is due in part to the fact that management majors take different courses from each other within the management major. This is being rectified by additional required courses in place of electives, so that more uniformity can be achieved across all management majors.

3.Summary of Results for Direct Measure 3: MANAGEMENT CASE 4 out of the 5 students who wrote responses to the case study earned an acceptable score , which equates to 80%

Summary of Results from Implementing Indirect Measures of Student Learning:

1.Summary of Results for Indirect Measure 1: 100% of students expressed somewhat and to a great degree combined satisfaction
