Public Art + public health ABOUT THE WORKSHOP Public Art + Public Health is a two-day workshop for planners and design professionals who want to harness public art and community-engaged design to bolster health in their cities and communties. In this workshop, Forecast will guide participants through the process of assessing, planning, and implementing public art projects to positively impact the health conditions of cities and neighborhoods. The workshop will focus on impacting individual physical and mental health, social cohesion, environmental health, and public safety. OUTCOMES Following this workshop, participants will be able to: Understand ways to connect community health concerns with public art projects and related fields. Describe different domains of community health and how public art can make a meaningful contribution to improving community health in each domain. Identify opportunities in their city, neighborhood, or community where public art can positively impact one or more domains of community health. Approach a community health impact assessment. Describe and make the case for meaningful synergies between public art and community well being.
