Public Address(PA) is typically required for some factories, schools,

supermarkets, fitness centers…which will broadcast advertising

messages, audio announcements or play background music.

However, for factories, schools, supermarkets,

or fitness centers, one speaker is usually insufficient to meet the

needs of the business as normally there are multiple zones to

address, manage and monitor.

A perfect PA solution is an essential requirement for enterprises in

Along with the development of the Internet network, high efficiency working is a target

that all enterprises are pursuing. What industries need a perfect PA solution?

Office Floors: some companies have multiple offices distributed across different

floors. If an announcement is required, anybody can initiate a call to the other office.

need to worry about compatibility with other devices. However, voice quality is lost even using expensive

cable and communications over cable are very insecure. It is a high cost but low productivity solution for

public addressing, as you have to pay for operating platform and PA specialists to standby and control the

system 24x7.


Evolution of PA Solutions

SIP PA solution: Technically it is a SIP + IP PA solution, and enjoys all the advantages that an IP PA

solution has. However, as SIP is commonly used for VoIP, there are a wide range of applications such as

computer software or apps on BYOD to choose from. The difference is SIP PA system is compatible with

all SIP devices. SIP PA system is the industry trend for its perfect compatibility and performance.

IP PA solution: Utilizes TCP/IP protocol, an IP Speaker is deployed on the IP network to provide reliable,

fast and automatic announcements and is simple to manage through a standard PC and application.

Communication data is secured to reach anywhere in our network or even internet, and offers high

definition encoded voice / audio without transmission impairments and distortion of audio signal. The

main problem however with this type of solution is that the systems are bespoke and therefore the cost

of system maintenance or expansion of the solution is high, as IP devices required are specialized and

can only be purchased from the solution provider meaning you pay a premium for them.

How does SIP Speaker Work?

SIP Speaker can be registered to CooVox IP PBX as IP Phone; then it operates as an extension to broadcast announcements from incoming calls.

Audio in/out interface on C20 is used to connect the earphone; (It’s Vol +/- buttons on B20 to adjust the volume)

SPK+/- is used to connect the loudspeaker.

1234 I/O Ports are used to define special activities via voltage adjustment, like emergency alarm, etc.

Power on C20 can be delivered along with data on Ethernet cabling

What is Paging Management System?

Paging Management System is an innovative software which is primarily used to distribute public address via sip protocol over SIP Speakers. Simple integration with CooVox IP PBX means that multiple SIP Speakers can be centrally managed, monitored and configured through paging management system.

Where is the Paging Management System Installed?

Paging Management System(PMS) is installed on any device which is based on x86 platform, or it can be installed on CooVox U60/U100 IP Phone System.

Login IP of Paging Management System is the same as the CooVox IP PBX on which it is hosted, the only difference is the port number which is 9997 for PMS which differs from the 9999 for CooVox IP PBX.

For example, the login IP of your IP PBX is 192.168.1.210:9999; therefore the login IP of the collaborated PMS would be 192.168.1.210:9997.

Once logged in, you can see all the iSpeakers’ status via PMS GUI.
