PTC - JOB REPORT - Free hanging Vibrodrivers 50HD and 120HD working in Marsa al seef for the Dubai Creek Project, UAE. A major renovation project aiming to rejuvenate Dubai’s Historic District started in early 2015. The improvements complement the municipality’s plans to qualify as a United Nations World Heritage Site. Dutco Balfour Beatty was awarded a USD 408.3 million construction contract by Meraas, a Dubai- based holding company. Spanning 670m on the waterfront, the project will feature outdoor recreational facilities and lifestyle amenities that will form part of the Khor Dubai Creek development project. It is scheduled to be completed in 2017. Dutco Balfour Beatty, used 2 PTC 50HD vibrodrivers to drive AZ36 and AU25 sheetpiles to a depth of 22m. A PTC 120HD Vibrodriver is used to drive more than 2000 casings of 750mm, 1000mm, and 1200mm diameter to a depth of 15m. This job is required for the construction of a private park for the royal family, within the Dubai Creek. The soil consists of dense grey, silty, fine sand with occasional broken shell pieces (SPT values at 20m deep: N = 23). At certain spot locations there was a hard layer of 2 - 3m that required the use of drill rigs to decompress the soil.
