While the following weeks would see many exciting matches, there will also be some ‘entertaining’ game analysis. We caught up with four young and happening presenters, Archana Vijaya, Shibani Dandekar, Gaurav Kapur and Samir Kochhar from the SET Max show, Extraaa Innings T20. We also had a quick rendezvous with former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu. Here’s what they all had to say. This Delhi boy has experience in presenting cricket shows. Talking about the coming season of the show, the 32-year-old said: “It’s going to be very exciting as we have stand-up comedians and cheerleaders from the US to pep up the whole studio atmosphere.” Kapur has also acted in films such as Darna Mana Hai, A Wednesday and Quick Gun Murugan, et al, but has no projects in hand. “I have no Bollywood projects at present. That’s probably because most of the films that I have been part of didn't work at the box office. So, now I have to hunt for work,” said Kapur, who doesn’t want to take part in any reality show as he finds them awful. Gaurav Kapur This Delhi boy wants to see actor Shah Rukh Khan’s team, Kolkata Knight Riders, do well this time. “Each season, we see Shah Rukh happy during the initial part of the tournament but not towards the end. So I’m hoping to see a change this time. It is always good to see ’underdogs’ win,” he said. Kochhar, who was recently seen hosting the reality show, Survivor India, believes that taking part in reality shows as a contestant is not his cup of tea. “I love hosting reality shows and I don’t see myself being a contestant in them. But as they say, never say never... It has to be a really cool and interesting show for me to say yes to it.” When asked about his upcoming ventures, the 31-year-old actor-host said, “I will be seen in (filmmaker) Vikram Bhatt’s upcoming film, Dangerous Ishq.” Samir Kochhar It’s her second time being a presenter on the show. And Vijaya is looking forward to showing her Indian avatar. “You’d mostly find me in Western wear. But after the response I got for the sari earli- er, I’ve decided to don a lot of Indian wear this time,” she said. Vijaya, who shot to fame by winning a reality show, says she loves reality shows, but is better away from them. “I came into this glam- our industry because of winning Channel V India’s reality show, Get Gorgeous. So, there’s no denying that I love reality shows. But I would not like to be a part of reality shows such as Bigg Boss because I feel that they are not real. I’d love to be part of a ‘real’ reality show,” said the 29-year-old. Is Bollywood too, on her mind? “Things are working positively in that direction. Bollywood is not far from the radar,” she said. Archana Vijaya The man who is never short of words is all praise for the IPL. “It’s the best thing that could have ever happened to cricket. Twenty20 cricket is like cricket in a Ferrari lane... it’s fast and furious,” said the 48-year old. And, Sidhu is quite confident that their show this year, will beat actor Vidya Balan in the entertain- ment quotient. “She (Vidya) said it three times (Entertainment) in her movie (The Dirty Picture), but our show is going to be five times in terms of entertainment,” said Sidhu, who also believes that “India has now become the mecca of cricket because of its commercial aspects.” Navjot Singh Sidhu Sister of VJ Anusha Dandekar, Shibani loves the Capital. “I love coming to Delhi and I’m here at least once a month. I love gorging on delicious food from Karim’s, Moti Mahal and Nirula’s whenev- er I’m here,” said the 32-year-old, who stays in Mumbai. About the show, she said: “This season is going to be a lot bigger and better than the previous ones. I’m really looking forward to it.” And, what about her upcoming ventures? “I have recently done a cameo in an Australian film. I’m looking for Bollywood projects but nothing is finalised as of now. There are many things in the pipeline. I also want to concentrate on my singing career,” she said.
