Pros and cons of Art therapyHumanistic TherapyHumanistic therapy is a psychological treatment based on the personality theories of Carl Rogers and other humanistic psychologists Humanistic therapies focus on self-development, growth and responsibilities. They seek to help individuals recognize their strengths, creativity and choice in the 'here and now'.The fundamental belief of humanistic psychology is that people are innately good and that mental and social problems result from deviations from this natural tendency.Integrative or Holistic therapyIntegrative therapy, or integrative counseling is a combined approach to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of specific therapies. Integrative therapists take the view that there is no single approach that can treat each client in all situations. Each person needs to be considered as a whole and counseling techniques must be tailored to their individual needs and personal circumstances. The integrative approach also refers to the infusion of a person's personality and needs - integrating the affective, behavioral, cognitive, and physiological systems within one person, as well as addressing social and spiritual aspects.Essentially, integrative counselors are not only concerned with what works, but why it works - tailoring therapy to their clients and not the client to the therapy.
