PSG - STEP was established in the year  1998 by PSG College of Technology in association with the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India & All India Financial Institution to promote technology based enterprise in the areas of Software, Electronic Products, Hi-tech Mechanical Products, Eco-friendly Textile Products & Bio-technology using the core strengths of PSG College of Technology. 

With the support of Technology Development Board, a Seed Fund Support System has been constituted by PSG-STEP to extend the financial support to the start-ups along with the infrastructure support to cater the early stage requirements, Testing, Trials & Test Marketing.

MSME-Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development of SMEs through Incubators Scheme

PSG-STEP is one of the institutions selected for the Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development of SMEs through incubators scheme under the Ministry of Micro Small & Medium

Enterprise, Govt of India, Under the scheme 10 start-ups with innovative business idea will be extended incubation support to a true of Rs 6.5 lakhs.

TDB-Seed Fund Support PSG-STEP with the support of Technology Development

Board (TDB) has instituted a Seed und Support System to extend the financial support upto Rs 25 lakhs to the start-ups along with the infrastructure support to cater the Early stage requirements,Testing,Trials & Test Marketing. The Financial support would be extened to Product Development,Testing,Trial & Test Marketing and Filing of Patents.

The Financial support will also be extended to projects that are in high-risk areas and directed towards commercial realization of innovative technologies thereby enhancing the start-ups to a level where they can be fit for seeking further financial support from Technology Development Board (TDB/Venture Capitalists and other supporting agencies.)

To build a new class of technology - competent entrepreneurs.

To act as an interface between institutions of learning and research and industry.

To establish  technology  and  science  centres and provide  basic infrastructure.

To assist and/or monitor in projects and  to co-ordinate with  State  and  Central Governments, industries, research organisations.

To render  complete  technical  and  other services to small scale entrepreneurs.

To organise seminars, symposia, workshops, industrial visit  and conferences

SG-STEP facilitates entrepreneurs in converting the idea into a prototype and take it the proof of concept stage. Once the prototype is proven  the proof of concept is established, small volume production can be carried out within PSG-STEP premises.
