Segregated  Fees  are  mandatory  charges  in  addition  to  your  tuition  fees  that  are  assessed  to  all  students  to  provide  funds  for  recreational,  cultural,  and  leisure  activities  and  groups  that  are  not  funded  through  other  state  appropriations.  Segregated  fees  are  not  designed  to  be  user  fees,  but  are  intended  to  contribute  to  the  richness  of  the  university  community.      Allocable  Segregated  Fees  support  student  activities  and  programming.  They  are  allocated  to  organizations  by  SUFAC  (Segregated  University  Fee  Allocation  Committee)  who  develops  the  segregated  fee  budget  and  the  Parkside  Student  Government  finalizes  the  approval.      Non-‐Allocable  fees  support  fixed  financial  commitments,  including  contracts,  debt  service  and  the  university  student  service programs.

GENERAL  SENATE

The  general  senate  is  made  up  of  20  senators  elected  by  the  student  body.  Senators  are  your  representatives.  Each  senator  has  the  ability  to  write  resolutions,  bring  your  issues  to  the  full  Senate  for  discussions,  and  to  move  forward  with  the  best  interest  of  the  students.  The  Senate  meets  weekly  on  Mondays  at  noon.  All  students  are  welcomed  to  the  meeting  to  hear  how  your  representatives  are  representing  you.  You  can  voice  your  concerns,  and  opinions  during  the  open  forum.  The  Speaker  of  the  Senate  chairs  the  senate  meetings.  If  there  are  open  spots  in  the  senate,  you  can  attend  our  weekly  meetings  in  order  to  run  for  these  positions  before  the  Senate.
