WHAT IS REPENTANCE?

Metanoia (Greek) – a change of

Shubaw (Hebrew) – to back.

Mark 1:15 – “Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

Repentance is a process that you.

Three things God gives us when you have the courage to REPENT.

God gives us His (v.3, 6)

Write down the things you feel God has promised you:

God gives us His (v.5)

God gives us His (v.7-8)

11 After reading, have discussion using the following questions:

• Who told these three stories? (Jesus)• Why do you think Jesus told stories like these? (He wanted to teach people and help them understand His ways.)•• What do you see that is the same in all 3 stories? (Things were lost. Celebrating happened when those things were found.)• What does this tell us about God? • How do you think God feels about you?• Think of someone in your life that doesn’t know Jesus. Spend time praying for them.

Start out by playing a game of hide and seek. Let one person hide and the rest of the family goes tofind the one person that is hiding. After a few roundsof playing introduce the story by connecting that Jesus told 3 different stories about lost things being found.

Read Luke 15. If you have preschoolers, you can use the summary below:Jesus taught, “Is there one here among you who wouldnot leave his herd of ninety-nine sheep to search for alost sheep until he finds it? When he finds the lost sheep, the shepherd puts him on his shoulders. He calls out tohis neighbors and friends: ’his neighbors and friends: ’Rejoice with me! I have foundmy lost sheep!’” Jesus said that in heaven there will bemore joy over one lost person who repent of his sin thanover ninety-nine people who do not need to repent.

A woman had ten silver coins. One of them was lost. Thewoman looked everywhere. She swept the house and kepton searching for the coin. When she found it, she called herfriends to celebfriends to celebrate with her. Jesus said that in that sameway, the angels rejoice when one person turns to God.

A man had two sons. One day the younger son said to hisfather, “Give me my share of the inheritance.” So the fathergave the younger son his part. The younger son packed hisbags and went to a distant land where he lived foolishlyand wasted his inheritance. Being tired and hungry, hedecided to go homedecided to go home. He said to himself, “Even the servantsin my father’s house eat better than this! I will go to myfather and ask if I can work for him because I am no longerworthy to be called his son.” So the son headed for home. While he was still a long way off, his father saw the soncoming toward home. The father ran to him, threw his armsaround him, and kissed him. The son said, “I have sinnedagainst God and against youagainst God and against you.” But the father told hisservants, “Bring the best robe for my son. Put a ring onhis finger and sandals on his feet. Let’s have a feast andcelebrate! This son of mine was lost, and now he is found!”

Hello Families,

Since we will not be meeting at our church on Sundays for the foreseeable future, you can plan on the Children’s Ministry sending you family worship activities each week.

I have been bombarded with news, articles, emails and text messages. It’s overwhelming,to say the least. The most encouraging article I have read is this one by Andy Crouch. Whilereading it, I cried tears of overwhelming joy that Jesus is my Savior, and I am eager to see whatGod is doing thGod is doing through this.

We will also be utilizing social media to interact with you and your kids throughout the week. Pleasefollow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest!
