Every great matter they shall bring to you, but any small matter they shall decide themselves…”

Deuteronomy 17 / Representational government under God [again]14 “When you come to the land which the LORD your God is giving you, and possess it and dwell in it, and say, ‘I will set a king over me like all the nations that are around me,’ …16 But he shall not multiply horses for himself… 17 Neither shall he multiply wives for himself…nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself. 18 “…he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book…and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes.

BUT the nations don’t want to be ruled but men or women who represent God and his law.

Psalm 2 / God laughs at the wicked

4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the

Lord shall hold them in derision. 5 Then He shall speak to them in His

wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: 6 “Yet I have set My King [Jesus] on my holy hill of Zion.”

Psalm 2 / “Resistance is futile”

7 “I [Jesus] will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me,

‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8 Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of

the earth for Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’”

We are privy to the eternal counsel of the Father to the Son!!

Psalm 2 / Warning and promise

10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings;

Be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, And rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,

And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little.

Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that

signs and wonders may be done through the name of… Jesus.”

31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— 27 ‘ He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’— as I also have received from My Father.

Revelation 1913 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God….15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He

should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
