In 2010, Prysmian China has an opened representative office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Prysmian employs around 1,000 people in China. The total paid-in capital of Prysmian exceeds

USD 150 million. Currently, Prysmian is planning to further enlarge its investments in China.

In early 2011, Prysmian Group acquired Draka Group world widely. Therefore, Prysmian China

has another additional plant in Suzhou.

In the greater China, Prysmian focuses its business areas on:Utilities: Prysmian supplies high voltage cables and extra high voltage cables, medium

voltage cables for a wide range of application within the utilities.

Industrial: Prysmian produces low voltage and medium voltage cables, instrumentation/

control cables, which serve a broad range of industries including the Oil, Gas &

Petrochemical sector, transportation, mining and renewable energies sector, including

wind and solar power, nuclear energy.

Network components: Prysmian also produces network components such as joints and

terminations for extra high, high, medium and low voltage cables suitable for industrial,

building or infrastructure applications.

Telecommunication: Prysmian is a leading manufacturer of all types of cables and

accessories for the telecoms industry, such as optical fibres, optical cables, copper cable,

accessories, and fibre to the home.

In May of 2008, Prysmian (China)

Investment Company Limited was

established in Beijing of China as a

Headquarter of Prysmian China. Prysmian

China is controlling and leading all the

Chinese companies/businesses.

The HQ has a registered capital of Euro

55 million. It acts as a local investment

vehicle that will be responsible for develop,

negotiate and implement the investment

projects in China. It also centralize the

management, administration, marketing

and sales of the existing companies and

provide to the expertise assistance in

technology, accounting, legal, marketing,

sales, financial, human resources and other

CARRYING OUT IDEAS TO IMPROVE

WORLD-WIDE POWER GRIDS

HV&EHV BUSINESSPrysmian Baosheng Cable Company Limited

was established in 1999 as a joint venture

with Jiangsu Baosheng group. The

company is now one of the most successful

EHV/HV cable systems suppliers in the

Chinese market with a total investment

of over USD 70 million. Equipped with

state of the art production and testing

facilities, Prysmian Baosheng has a high

quality product range that includes:

medium voltage cables from 6 kV to 35

kV up to 630mm2 and extra high voltage/

high voltage cables ranging from 66 kV to

500 kV up to 2,500mm2. The Company

operates under rigorous quality and

environmental management systems that

are qualified under the prestigious ISO

9001 and 14001 standards.

The plant will be expanded with the

addition of a second vertical tower for

the production of extruded cables using

VCV (Vertical Continuous Vulcanization)

process; the tower construction is in

progress and will be completed and


ready to produce by 2012. When fully

operational, the production capacity in this

manufacturing unit in Baoying will be almost

doubled.

In addition to cables, Prysmian Baosheng is

also able to offer a range of different value

added services to its clients; it can supply

and install a comprehensive range of both

medium and high voltage accessories, up

to 500 kV; it can provide a system design

and/or installation design service for

underground power cable applications;

it can also offer a complete turnkey cable

system service whereby we design,

manufacture, install, test and commission

a cable circuit as a total package for our

client.

Prysmian Baosheng is now recognized

as one of the leading EHV/HV cable

manufacturers in the Chinese market and

a leading provider of customized service in

the cables and systems market with our

Prysmian Tianjin Cables Company Limited established in 1995. In 2007, the company

moved to Xiqing Economic Development

Area, Tianjin. The new plant occupies

around 60,000m2, of which 20,000m2

workshops covered area. Strongly

positioned in the higher value-added market

segments, Prysmian Tianjin designs,

develops, manufactures, supplies and

installs a wide range of cables and systems

for industrial applications. The equipments

available in plant allow manufacturing a

wide range of high quality MV power cables

suitable for both domestic and export

markets.

Prysmian Tianjin manufactures XLPE

insulation power cables up to 110kV,

Special cables and Rubber cables up to 35

kV, using equipments and test instruments

which are imported from Europe and

the USA. Cables are manufactured with

sophisticated and advanced technology

in order to assure high quality and reliable

products. Such as drawing machine,

stranding machine, triple head, dry-cure

CCV line, and 3 rubber extrusion lines and

laying-up machine imported from Europe.

Partial discharge equipment for final test

and silicon oil-bath test, also assures the

quality of insulation, along with Rheometer

testing for rubber based compounds.

Instruments for a range of testing on

incoming raw materials are also available.

In 2008, Prysmian Tianjin built a new

work shop in Xiqing Plant, which occupies

2,753m2. The main function of the work

shop is for manufacturing PVC, LSOH and

rubber material for cables.

Prysmian Tianjin manufactures wide range

products which applying in Wind farm,

Rolling Stock, Metro, Mining, Oil & Gas,

OEM, Marine and off-shore,PV-Solar, and

other Industrial area.

INDUSTRIAL BUSINESS


Prysmian Angel Tianjin Cable Company Limited established in 1992 as formerly

Tianjin Angel Co., Ltd. In 2006, Prysmian

purchased assets of Angel Group, and

established Prysmian Angel Tianjin Cable

Co., Ltd. Prysmian Angel located in the

Tianjin New Industrial Park, which is

recognized throughout Northern China

as advanced technology areas. Prysmian

Angel occupies a total area of 36,630sqm,

incorporating 7,000sqm and 2,300sqm

of covered workshops and offices

respectively.

The cable are manufactured and tested

using Prysmian Angel’s advanced

production and testing equipments,

which are mainly imported from Europe,

including 4 extrusion lines with skin-foam-

skin technology; laying-up, armouring and

braiding machines; 4 sheathing lines; 1

compounding facilities (SAMP) line, etc.

Prysmian Angel product portfolio is mainly

concentrated in special precision cables

such as instrumentation, control, analog

& digital signaling cables, thermocouples

extensions and computer cables.

The applications of Prysmian Angel’s

products focus on with this extensive range

demand the best quality.

NETWORK COMPONENTS

Prysmian Cable (Shanghai) Company Limited is the cable accessory business unit

of Prysmian China. With accessories

produced in China and imported from Italy

and Europe, Prysmian Shanghai can offer

products from 10kV up to 500kV to the

Chinese market.

The company has a warehouse in the

Waigaoqiao free Trade Zone in Shanghai

with local kitting facilities. This enables

Prysmian Shanghai to provide prompt

delivery to its customers to meet their

demand.

Prysmian Shanghai also possesses a

highly professional installation team. The

engineers are trained and qualified by

headquarter technical and engineering

experts. We offer complete supervision

and installation services on our products, in

a logic of turnkey project.

Prysmian Shanghai will further expand

the high capacity to produce local HV

accessory manufacturing to better fulfill

China HV market demands of network

components and cable systems. Other

than servicing our domestic customers,

Prysmian Shanghai will also act as a

base for the Prysmian Group to export

TELECoMMUNICATIoN BUSINESSPrysmian Wuxi Company Limited is one of

the largest telecommunications cables

producer in China. The factory focuses on

the production of Optical fiber Cables that

are installed by tier 1 telecom operators

and fTTX network infrastructures. The

Plant can manufacture all the range

of Optical Cables, from small cables

for premises applications to the 432

fiber Ribbon cable deployed as the main

backbone cable. The Optical Cable total

capacity has been increasing over the

years with continuous investments and now

Prysmian Wuxi is able to manufacture more

than 2.5 Million fiber km per year.

Optical fiber cables have entered into the

domestic market and recently became

one of the major suppliers to the Chinese

operators, the company also exported to

Europe, Australia, South American and

East South of Asia.

Prysmian Wuxi has obtained got “Product

Certificate”, “Network Access License for

Special Telecommunications Equipment

in Electric Power System”, “Certificate of

Network Access for Broadcast Equipment,

State Administration of radio, film & TV, P.

R. China”, “UL Certificate”, “ROHS Testing

Report” for optical and copper cable. It also

Suzhou Draka Cable Co., Ltd. (SDC) is a Wholly-

Owned-foreign-Enterprise (WOfE) of

Draka Holding N.V. of the Netherlands.

Draka Holding N.V. is the holding company

of a number of operating companies

which are engaged in the development,

production and sale of cable and cable

systems. Draka focuses on two product

groups: telecommunication cable and low-

voltage and special-purpose cable. It is

one of the leading cable manufacturers in

the world, with 68 operating companies in

30 countries in Europe, North and South

America Asia, and Australia.

In 1958 the Ministry of Industry established

Suzhou Cable Works (SCW) to specialize

in electrical wires & cables manufacturing.

SDC was officially established in April 1994

as a joint-venture company between SCW

and Draka far East. In July 1997, it became

a WOfE.

SDC has been an ISO9000 certified

company since 1994. To better serve her

clients, SDC is well equipped with the most

advanced machines and a wide range of

sophisticated test equipment. Products
