HISTORY OF SOCIAL HOUSINGIN MARYSTOWN, NL
1966-1967 – construction of 200 housing units comprising of row housing, duplexes and individual homes
Early 1980s - divestiture of some of these units started, specifically duplexes and individual homes
Currently – NL Housing Corporation owns 147 units, mostly row housing on Atlantic Crescent and Smallwood Crescent
Currently – 26 of those units are vacant and in need of extensive repair

Marystown Retirement Centre The Marystown Retirement Centre opened in 2005 and
can accommodate 93 residents. The Centre opened with support from the Town
through a donation of land and remission of taxes for five years.
