Dear Friends, Family Members and Supporters:
We are off to a great start for the2015‐16 academic year and most eagerto share our highlights. Aftercelebrating the college acceptance of allof our seniors, we are supporting themas they begin the next phase of theirlives as Providence Cristo Rey HighSchool alumni. With that in mind, wehave assigned a new staff position ‐coordinator of parent and alumniaffairs. As our school and network grow, we believe it is vitalto maintain strong relationships with our graduates and thefamilies of our current students. Equally important is buildingrelationships with our corporate partners. We embraced both stakeholders in August when wewelcomed our largest incoming class ‐ 101 studentsrepresenting 31 schools throughout Marion County. Wekicked off the school year with a week of Corporate WorkStudy Training and hosted our Corporate Work Study Job Fairfor the first time at the Indiana Statehouse. Students met withcompany representatives and even had an opportunity tomeet with Governor Michael Pence. The work‐study trainingculminated with our first‐ever "Draft Day" (see video here)when students were welcomed by the corporations that arehosting our Corporate Work Study internships. It was a dayfilled with excitement ‐ companies gifted students with theirlogo merchandise and posed for pictures, just like a RedCarpet Ceremony. As Providence Cristo Rey continuesto grow, we welcomed six new

We'd like to offer aspecial thanks to Rich Milliner andAssociates for helping us secureoutstanding teachers. Among ouracademic highlights is the expansionof our dual credit courses including: > Professors with the IU School ofInformatics and Computing at IUPUIteaching our students about web appdesign, prototyping games and smartobjects. The Informatics: DiversityEnhanced Workforce (iDEW) initiative is made possible inpart by the generous support of JP Morgan Chase.> Upperclassmen enrolled in IUPUIcourses such as Chinese Language,Psychology and Trigonometry.> Ivy Tech courses taught at PCRHSincluding Spanish III, English,Introduction to Micro Computers, andPre‐Calculus.> IU Kelley School of BusinessIntroduction to Business and PersonalFinance Courses taught to Juniors andSeniors.> Marian University Clark H. > Through the generous support of ourmany stakeholders, Providence CristoRey families are extremely grateful forthe transportation to and from 52locations throughout Indianapolis. Weare also grateful to our Corporate WorkStudy Partners for support of ourtransportation to and from our 90 corporation sites throughoutthe city. > "Providence Cristo Rey is one of a handful of Indiana schoolswith overwhelming numbers of lowincome students that isachieving results at least as good or better than the state average.In other words, these schools are eliminating the achievementgap between lowincome minority students and their white,middleclass peers," writes JK Wall in the Indianapolis BusinessJournal.
