INTRODUCTION:

In Proverbs 1:20-33 – Wisdom is giving us an invitation to have wisdom, Chapter 2 speaks of the motivations for seeking wisdom and the results when wisdom is obtained.

PART ONE: THE CONDITIONS FOR OBTAINING WISDOM- vs. 1-4

PART TWO: The Result – The Knowledge Of God – vs.5-8

PART THREE: The Result – Skill in Living or Right Conduct – vs.9-22

1. First, wisdom becomes sweet and precious – vs.9-11

2. Second, wisdom delivers from the evil man* - vs.12-15

3. Third, wisdom delivers from the evil woman** - vs.16-22

*EVIL MAN – Literally an evil man, like an evil peer

– or an evil man, the Devil or Satan

**EVIL WOMAN – Literally, a whore or a tempting woman

– or a religious system
