Leadership

1. Attitude is a force multiplier

Negative and positive attitudes are as contagious as influenza. An already poor situation will devolve with a prevalent pessimistic outlook. However, the situation will improve when optimism is provided with possible solutions. It is far better to light a small candle than curse the night in a darkened room. Providing an optimistic and positive outlook will inspire others to search for solutions and continue the good fight. True strength is helping to raise those around you to become stronger. Positive attitudes do in fact become a force multiplier!

2. Excellence Excellence is achieved when small tasks are completed with extraordinary levels of quality on a daily basis. Over time this trend results in the achievement of excellence. Expect and demand excellence from yourself and others. The greatest disrespect towards yourself is to lack an expectation of excellence in your character or actions.

3. Have a planNo one plans to fail, but some fail to plan. Don't be that person. Plan it, practice it, and prepare it.

4. Adapt/Improvise/Overcome It is true that no plan survives first contact with the enemy. What is the enemy? (family divorce, financial difficulties, storms, disease, moving to a new state, trouble with a bully, or a broken heart) When a conflict develops, even the best plan begins to shift. Be prepared to think on your feet and Adapt to the problem, Improvise a new solution to bypass the problem, and Overcome the problem with small successes.

5. Leaders lead by exampleWhen others are tired, afraid, hungry, or weak, the leader will be energetic, optimistic, and strong. A leader will turn obstacles into stepping stones and failure into success. If a leader is absent, become the one that steps forward to shepherd the weak. Set an example, thus, becoming a leader and help those around you to become stronger than they once thought possible.

6. Proactive not reactiveSmall proactive steps in preparation are far more productive than repairing preventable damage. Better to be a step ahead than falling behind at the last minute. Acting proactively can remove many future obstacles and prevent a negative outcome exercise.

7. Fear and faith are not compatible One direction will lead to a journey of confidence. The other is a path into darkness, paralysis, and doubt. Be bold when moving into the future. Move with strength and confidence rather than a foundation of weakness and fear. Therefore, give your emotion with care, as only one will dominate. Fear is not the solution to a problem. Points on a compass are in opposite directions. It is not possible to travel in a north-south course. One must be chosen over the other. Choose your direction with great care, fear or faith.
