STEP 1: Advice and Assistance is provided by our friendly, professional call centre staff.

STEP 2: Clean or Repair. A professional technician will clean or repair the customers mattress. Customers receive unlimited service calls (until the cost of servicing the mattress reaches the purchase price of the mattress).

STEP 3: Pro Rata Replacement. If the mattress can not be cleaned or repaired we will replace it on a pro rata basis.

Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is OmniGuard® Advanced ™ fabric?

✔ OmniGuard® Advanced ™ Fabric is a dual layer fabric. The PolyKnit™ outer surface is a silky soft, moisture wicking polyester fabric. The InnerShield ™ inner surface is a breathable, waterproof polyurethane membrane applied using microdot technology.

What are the advantages of the PolyKnit™ fabric?

✔ The interlock (circular) stretch knit weave technique ensures that the fabric has excellent stretch and recovery, so it will fit a wide range of mattresses sizes snugly without sagging, stretching or bunching. This technique also ensures the tightest weave and thus the smallest pore size possible, making the fabric virtually impenetrable to dust mites and allergens.

What are the advantages of the InnerShield ™ membrane?

✔ Superior breathability: because the InnerShield ™ membrane is applied using microdot technology, it does not inhibit air flow, unlike most traditionally applied laminated membranes. Microdot technology allows us to create a membrane with pores small enough to block water molecules, but large enough to allow air to flow through.

✔ Hot wash/hot dry (up to 200ºC): because the InnerShield ™ membrane is not applied as a traditional laminated layer, OmniGuard® Advanced™ Mattress Protectors can be hot washed and tumble dried at temperatures up to 200ºC without worrying about de-laminating or perforation of the membrane.

✔ Comfort: the application process allows the film layer to be thinner than in traditional laminated membranes (the average membrane thickness is approximately 25.4 microns). This combined with the breathability of the membrane greatly enhances the comfort level of the fabric.

✔ Heat exchange: because the InnerShield ™ membrane is fine and breathable it allows heat exchange. This is important not only for comfort, but also to ensure the proper function of heat responsive materials such as memory foam.

How does polyester compare to cotton and bamboo fibres?

Bamboo fibre is a man made cellulosic (plant based) fibre, essentially it is a type of rayon. Because it is a cellulosic fibre it’s characteristics are similar to cotton, which is also a cellulosic fibre. When it comes to mattress protectors there are three main differences between polyester and cellulosic fibres:

1. Level of protection: for the best protection from allergens and dust mites you need a fabric with the smallest possible pore size. The smallest pore sizes will be found in fabrics that are made of polyester. This is because polyester is a strong fibre and can withstand tight weaving, because cotton is not as strong as polyester it cannot be woven as tightly without the fibre breaking.

2. Comfort: some people prefer the feel of cellulosic fibres, however the interlock stretch knit used to create the PolyKnit™ outer layer of OmniGuard® Advanced ™ Fabric is designed to enhance the comfort of the fabric. OmniGuard® Advanced ™ Fabric has a soft, silky finish and fits the mattress snugly without sagging, stretching or bunching. In addition high quality technical fabrics used by athletes are almost exclusively made from polyester because of both its superior wicking and its ability to dry quickly. Like these sport garments OmniGuard® Advanced ™ Fabric uses special polyester fabric designed to wick away sweat, thus leaving the skin dry.

3. Longevity: polyester fibres are stronger and more resilient to fraying, shrinking and stretching.

How do OmniGuard® Advanced ™ protectors keep mattresses free of allergens and dust mites?

OmniGuard® Advanced™ fabric is clinically proven to keep out dust mites and allergens. OmniGuard® Advanced ™ Mattress Protectors have several features that ensure that they are virtually impenetrable to dust mites and allergens.

PolyKnit™ fabric:

✔ Is created using an interlock (circular) stretch knit weave to ensures the tightest weave and thus the smallest pore size possible.

✔ Provides complete mattress surface and border protection against dust mites and other allergens.

✔ Prevents skin particles (the main food source for dust mites) from reaching the mattress ticking.

InnerShield ™ membrane:

✔ Prevents moisture build-up in the mattress. This is important since dust mites, mould and mildew thrive in moist conditions.

MiteTight ® seam construction:

✔ Fabric binding is used seal the seams shut to ensure dust mites , microscopic allergens and moisture cannot penetrate.

✔ Medical grade needles provide the smallest possible penetration when stitching seams.

5-Sided Construction:

✔ OmniGuard® Advanced™ fabric is used on the top and sides of the mattress protector. We do not use the less expensive stretch knit side material, which allows dust mites , microscopic allergens and moisture to penetrate.

✔ OmniGuard® Advanced™ Mattress Protectors and designed to ensure a snug fit, ensuring that all exposed surfaces of the mattress are protected from dust mites, microscopic allergens and moisture at all times.

Do I need a full mattress encasement (6-sided protector) to ensure complete protection from dust mites and allergens?

NO. Scientific studies have show that there is no significant difference in the level of protection from dust mites and allergens provided by a 5-sided and a fully encased mattress protector.

Why is there no difference in the level of protection? Dust, allergens and other particulate matter such as skin flakes, which are the major source of food for dust mites, fall downwards on to the mattress surface or are sucked in through the sides of the mattress, they do enter the through the mattress base in significant numbers. Think about it, you vacuum your floor regularly, but how often do you vacuum your ceiling. The base of a mattress is like a ceiling, it just isn’t as exposed to dust and other particulate matter.

So what are the advantages of a fully encased (6-sided) mattress protector?

✔ If your mattress is kept in a humid environment, water vapour can penetrate your mattress through the base, a full encasement product will prevent this. If the protector is applied to the mattress when it is new, it will create a sealed environment and keep the mattress in “as new” condition free from moisture, mould and mildew.

✔ The combination of OmniGuard® Advanced™ fabric and YKK zippers provide clinically proven protection from bed bugs.

How are the silver ions applied to the PureCare™ Antimicrobial Silver mattress protectors?

The OmniGuard® Advanced™ fabric is dipped in a solution containing the silver ions.

Will the silver ions wash off?

The product has been tested up to 100 washes with no significant loss of silver ions. If the customer wants to create the most sterile sleeping environment possible, we suggest that they purchase a 6-sided PureCare™ Antimicrobial Silver mattress protector and a 5-sided OmniGuard® Advanced ™ protector. The 5-sided protector can be taken off and washed, allowing the 6-sided protector to remain permanently on the mattress ensuring that the mattress is never exposed contaminants or moisture.
