quikLoader

SPEEDThe quikLoader is the fastest way to load programs, BARNONE! Applesoft, Integer, or machine languageprograms can be loaded in fractions of a second. Moreimportantly, DOS is instantly loaded every time thecomputer is turned on. Integer is even loaded in thelanguage card. This process takes less than a second,saving valuable time. The quikLoader operating systemcan keep track of over 250 programs stored in PROMs(Programmable Read Only Memory). The user simplytransfers any of these programs to PROM using theinstructions packed with the unit, and any PROMprogrammer, or we will provide this service.

CONVENIENCEHow many times have you started to work with afrequently used program, only to find that you havemisplaced the disk, or worse, had the disk damaged, or

the dreaded “I/O ERROR” message flash on the screen.With the quikLoader, these nightmares can be a thing of

the past. Frequently used programs are available

instantly when you need them, without having to look for

the disk, or hoping that the lengthy disk loadingprocedure goes smoothly. If you do need to use standarddisks, the quikLoader even speeds up that process. Forexample, to catalog a disk, just press ctrl-C Reset. To run

the “HELLO” program, press ctrl-H Reset. Other “one-key” commands include entering the monitor, bootingthe disk, calling up the mini-assembler, etc. The majordifference between the quikLoader and the other ROMcards is the complete operating system (in PROM). Thisenables you to get the quikLoader catalog on the screen(by pressing ctrl-Q Reset), allowing you to see whatprograms are available. Loading or running of the desiredprogram requires one keypress. Program parameters,such as starting address and length of machine languageprograms can be seen on the catalog screen, if desired.

The card is reset driven. To use any of the many features

of the card, RESET is pressed in conjunction with a key.

The particular key pressed chooses the feature.

VERSATILEThe quikLoader will accept any of the popular PROMSavailable on the market, 2716, 2732, 2764, 27128 and27256. These types may be freely intermixed on the card.

Long programs can take up more than one PROM, orseveral short programs may be stored on one PROM. The

quikLoader operating system even handles multiplecards, so you can easily double or triple the amount of

PROM memory available. The ultimate memory capacityof one card is 256K, so many frequently used programsand utilities can be stored. We even start your library of

programs with the most popular utilities on the card, FIDand COPYA. Now, if you have to copy a disk, you don’t

have to search for the master disk. You can start copyingwithin 3 seconds after turning on the computer.

INCREASED DISK CAPACITYSince DOS is loaded from the quikLoader every time the

computer is turned on, it is not necessary to take upvaluable disk space with DOS. This will give you morethan 5% additional space for programs and data on yourdisks.

allows the user to plug in up to four peripheral cards at one

time. One of these cards is selected for use, and only that

card draws power.

requires the printer to be in a particular slot, and the user
