Conventional cultivation can have devastating effects on soil.

With traditional cultivation techniques, soil is often ploughed several times to create a fine seed bed and control weeds.

This will expose soil particles to erosion from wind and rain, destroy humus and result in severe breakdown of soil structure.

Repeated passes by heavy tractors and equipment lead to soil degeneration and to the formation of almost impenetrable layers of compacted soil (“hard pan”)below the surface.

Livestock grazing, combined with these factors, contributes to soil compaction/“hard pan” formation. “Hard pans” can develop at any level in the soil and will constitute a barrier to water entry and will prevent deeper, healthier root growth.

When soil is compacted and a “hard pan” forms; helpful soil microbes and earthworms are reduced or eliminated, pastures dry out faster, become waterlogged quicker and plant growth is restricted; resulting in lower crop and pasture yields.

The RanchWorx Aerator’s blades will penetrate and shatter the “hard pan” without exposing the soil to erosion.

It works in all soil types – from sandy to heavy clay to rocky – from flawless hayfields to rugged terrains.

Hillsides are able to capture the rainwater – avoiding run-off. Chemical and natural feritlizers are absorbed and filtered through the soil and to grass roots.

In its no-till application, hay fields can be worked while leaving them smooth. Grass roots remain down – not exposed to sunlight. Cattle can remain in worked fields.

Relieve soil compaction and root-bound sod. Stimulate grass roots to grow down, resulting in greener, thicker grasses. Receive nutrient by turning ground into a sponge, absorbing all rain, fertilizer or natural waste applications. Avoid run-off in hilly terrain. Extend the life of your fertilization time period.

Save time and fuel – increase grass yield and stocking rates!

Improved Yields… …and Healthier Soils Invest in Sustainable Farming!

When Marc Lawson set out to improve his Florida ranch lands, one primary goal was to make pasture aeration more profitable and efficient.

From past experience, Lawson knew that traditional straight-blade choppers tore up the ground, exposing valuable grass roots to damaging sunlight. They also were hard to move from pasture to pasture, as well as forcing extreme wear-and-tear on both tractor and operator.

He concluded that a multi-blade aerator would do a better job, in less time, with easier, more efficient operation.

Over time, he improved upon the multi-blade idea with a graduating spiral across and around heavy-duty steel drums, adding heavy-duty wheels and tires for easier transportation.

In the process, Lawson fashioned a system for adjusting the drum angle setting to allow a variable aggression and aeration per pass.

That was more than 40 years ago. Today, RanchWorx produces aerators that are the most sought after in the industry.

With thousands of units at work in this country and abroad, the sun never sets on the RanchWorx brand. Somewhere in the world, these tough dependable aerators are working soil or clearing brush every moment of the day.

From their plant and headquarters in Florida, the staff and crew of professional craftsmen, continually build new features and added value into the machines that bear their name.

It’s the RanchWorx way: Hands-on research and development. Personal service. Complete dedication. Close attention to every detail.

With more than two dozen standard models available, customers can count on RanchTech angled steel 6-inch blades, Cold Roll axles throughout the drum, heavy-duty frames and a company which stands squarely behind every unit that goes out the door.

RanchWorx builds many custom aerators as well. When Western ranchers were searching for methods to control heavy mesquite, huisach, greasewood and sage brush, RanchWorx equipment supplied an answer.

Land renovation in other countries has been made easier and, thereby, more profitable, with machines which cut across the toughest terrain without constant breakdowns or maintenance.

An enduring reputation for total integrity, quality and design ingenuity have made the Lawson name an undisputed leader in the land clearing and aeration industry.

Benefits of using a RanchWorx Aerator

Increase grass & hayfield production•Increase • water retentionFracture sub-soil up to 24’’•Reduce fertilization cost, up to 35%•Bring • CRP back into productionHigh work rates – single pass•Avoid run off•Low maintenance•Prevents standing water•

Single drum units are typically used for pasture aeration, light brush management, and seeding with the optional broadcast seeder.

Available with 6”, 7”, and 8” blades•Ranging from 4,700 lbs to 19,000 lbs•Solid axles though entire drum•All units include Hydraulic Landing Gear •for easy transportationLevels rough ground•

Our patented spiral blade/drum design •leaves the soil to act as a spongeWhile other lightweight aerators try to •help surface issues, RanchWorx aerators improve the subsoil as well as stimulate surface bound rootsMoisture is held in the “mellowed” soil •even after the surface has driedOptional seeder packages are available on •all RanchWorx units

Tandem units are excellent for controlling •greasewood, blackbrush, mesquite & other regrowth up to 6 inches in diameter Opens the ground to allow fertilizer to •seep inStimulate hay fields while still leaving •them smoothPasture aeration can be completed in one •smooth pass at speeds of 3–11 mphGreat for CRP applications•

The RanchWorx History

7 Reasons W hy You Should Aerate Your FarmAeration increases the effectiveness of herbicides. The concept is 1. simple. The more access herbicides have to your forage, the more effective they wil l be.Aeration enhances the outcome of no-till planting. As more farmers 2. adapt the practice of no-til l planting, many are discovering that aeration prior to planting yields better results.

Aeration reduces soil erosion. When water hits a pasture, it will 3. either run in or run off; and when it runs off, it takes part of the soil with it. Aeration allows more of the water to run in.Aeration enhances the use of poultr y l itter on pastures. Many 4. farmers use l itter from poultr y houses as ferti l izer for their pasture. W hen combined with aeration, poultry l itter can become an even more important element of forage production.

Aeration reduces fertilizer costs. Aeration can cut your fertilization 5. costs up to 35%.Aeration is effective in a variety of soil types. When a farmer is 6. faced with a rocky soil, a sub-soiling tool is often found to be useless. With the unique rotating tine system of the aerator, rocky soil is not a problem. It allows producers who do not have the ideal soil environment to stil l take advantage of aeration benefits.

Aeration gives water and nutr ients better access to the root 7. systems of your forage. As the tines of the aerator penetrate, twist, and exit, they create an easier means of getting v ita l elements to the roots of your plants. The more nutr ients that water can take to the roots, the more productive the pasture can be.

Eradicate Hard Pans – The RanchWorx drums break up hard pans, clay pans and compacted soils without inversion leaving precious top soil on the surface. When the hard pan has been eliminated, crop roots can freely get to the moisture and nutrients deeper in the soil.

Minimum Soil Disturbance – The RanchWorx no-till system creates minimum soil disturbance which lessens moisture loss and soil degradation. The topsoil remains virtually undisturbed and is less susceptible to wind and water erosion than conventionally cultivated soils.

Root Bed Renovation – Eliminating compaction results in improved water infiltration and soil aeration. Humus levels, along with worm and microbic activity, are increased; improving soil structure and creating a healthier and more sustainable root and seed bed environment.
