    To cater the basic, higher & special educational needs of the society, for which the

    students had to travel miles away, the Trust established various education projects like

    Primary/Secondary English medium residential school, Junior College of Science, Samarth

    Institute of Nursing Education, College of Advanced studies etc. All the courses are approved

    by the Government & the respective Authorities like Nursing Council, State board of

    technical education, University of health science, etc & the institute fulfills the norms and

    standards laid by them. The admissions to these courses are purely based on merit & as per

    the norms of affiliating authorities. The trust has its own super speciality hospital which

    consists of various departments like Pathology Laboratory, Blood bank, Component Lab, X-

    ray radiography, ultra sonography, CT scan, Hemodialysis, Operation theatres which are well

    equipped with highly advanced facilities.

    The institute has separate hostel & mess facilities for male & female students. The

    students are provided with individual guidance from skilled & qualified staff of the institute as

    well as from the eminent visiting faculties of the respective field. With this support &

    guidance the students are carrying out many social & clinical research projects successfully.

    Parent Hospital: The clinical teaching of students is conducted at BKL Walawalkar

    Hospital, Diagnostic & Research Centre. This is a 350 bedded, state of the art hospital with all

    modern facilities located on Mumbai -Goa Highway. Hospital has Casualty, ICCU, NICU,

    RAGGING:

    Ragging is a serious offence and is treated as a criminal and punishable offence. No student

    must indulge or encourage or support ragging of any kind. Anti-ragging Committee of the Institute

    takes serious action in eradicating any ragging activity from the root.

    EXAMINATIONS:

    Examinations for M.Sc. Nursing & P. B. B. Sc. Nursing, are conducted as per MUHS, Nashik

    guidelines. Whereas examinations for RGNM & RANM are conducted as per MNC, Mumbai

    STUDENTS WELFARE: - Regular student guidance & counseling sessions are conducted to

    generate student – staff interaction, to know about their academic problems & relieve the students

    from stress. The students undergo regular medical checkups to diagnose & treat any ailment they are

    suffering from. The students are also provided with vaccines like hepatitis-B, to avoid any infection

    during their study or duty tenure.

  • A medical college with 100 seats is envisaged for the year 2015 by S.V.J.C.Trust as there is a

    dire emergency to provide modern medical services to the rural population at their door steps.

    Medical students trained from this college are expected to offer their services to the local

    communities. This would then improve the overall quality of health-services in these communities.

    Students will get an opportunity to carry forward the research already going on at B.K.L.Walawalkar

    Hospital. Thus the main objectives of the Rural Medical College would be to achieve academic

    growth, provide good doctors in rural area who in turn would serve the rural population, give an

    The medical college library has always a central position as the heart of an institution – both

    in terms of symbolically as well as physical placement. It is a “Temple of Scholarship.” To enter and

    use of library is considered as a privilege. The library reflects the values, mission, and goals of the

    institution.

    The central library is spacious well lighted and air-conditioned reading halls with sitting

    capacity of 200 students and 25 staff members. Total numbers of books are 4374, which includes

    1526 books of preclinical subjects and 1895 books of para-clinical & 953 books of clinical subjects.

    The library has 40 journals (28 Indian and 12 foreign). The digital library facility includes 25 P.C.

    with internet connectivity is available. In addition to this online M. U. H. S. digital library

    information free access for 13,000+ peer reviewed journals and 1300+ books is also available through

    internet. The library has collection of CDs and e-books. The library provides Xerox and Photo copy

    facility.
