Study Material inSelf Learning

FormatStudy material in Self Learning format is one of the best features of LPDistance Education. Generally in Distance Education mode, students

physically at distance from their teachers/ mentors. Hence the study

material meant for them should play 'teacher-function' also in addition

providing knowledge and information. The study material developed b

LPU is self-explanatory, self-contained, self-directed, self-motivating, s

evaluating, and hence is called Self-learning Material (SLM).

With help of various tools like Caution, Notes, Tasks, Did you know?,

Pictures, Graphics, Exercises, Case Studies, Examples, etc., students

it easy to learn on their own.

Self Assessment Questions and Review Questions enable students to

gauge their learning on the topics covered in the unit and to keep them

active throughout the learning process.

Other features like Summary, Keywords, Glossary and Further Readin

make the study material comprehensive and stimulating for the stude

enabling them to understand better.

Apart from Study Material in Self Learning Format, e-Books for many

courses enable web-based study permitting students to take their cla

rooms wherever they want. The e-Books are benecial for students as

can ip through the pages of these virtual books on their computers,

laptops, Tablets, i-pads, i-phones etc.

LPU Distance Education students may interact with the faculty memb

through the PCPs, which may be provided for certain programmes at

university campus, Phagwara, Punjab. These classes provide an

opportunity for conceptual understanding of the courses and also for

interacting and learning from other students.
