After a wonderful visit from Reader-Man, the students have learned so much about their Reading Superpowers. Some of the powers they have learned to use are “Pointer Power” in which they point to each word as they read. They learned “Snap Word Power” where they know their sight words in a snap, and “Picture Power” when they look at the picture to make sure it matches the words on the page. “Persistence Power” this is when the students keep trying and use their strategies when a text is challenging for them. This will help the students read with more fluency, expression, and drama. As the children become Super Readers with all of the reading powers they now possess, everything they read can be brought to life. Encourage your child to share their reading powers with you at home!
