Background summary:
ITEM 1: Peshastin Mill Donation – This acquisition is a 14-acre donation of Wenatchee River frontage from
the Complete the Loop Coalition. This non-profit group will hold an easement on the property to complete a
trail along the ¾ mile waterfront portion and will donate this land to WDFW for low impact recreation. The
Port of Chelan has agreed to provide maintenance for this site for up to 5 years. The property is the site of
the former Peshastin Mill logging operation.
Acquiring this property would improve public access to the river for anglers, bird watchers, hikers and
other recreationalists.

Item 1 was approved through the Department’s Lands 20/20 process.
Action requested:
Approval of the proposed land transaction as presented.

This action will enhance public recreation.

WDFW will distribute a press release informing the public of this action and proceed to closing the transaction.
