1. THIS PROJECT HAS NOT BEEN SURVEYED. ALL DISTANCES AND OFFSETS ARE APPROXIMATE. FINAL LOCATIONS AND DISTANCES WIll BE AS APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER.
2. THE ENGINEER Will SUPPLY AS-ASUILTS FROM 1994 AS REFERENCE TO RENUMBERING THE EXISTING LOOPS AND SIGNAL HEADS IN THE CONTROLLER CABINET. THIS WORK WILL INCLUDE REMOVAL OF ALL CONFUCTING CONDUCTOR NUMBERING AND INSTAWNG NEW CONDUCTOR NUMBERING LABELS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
3. THE EXISTING PAVEMENT IS ASPHALT CONCRETE THAT HAS BEEN OVERLAID AND PATCHED IN SOME AREAS. THEREFORE THE CONTRACTOR SHOULD EXPECT TO ENCOUNTER VARYING DEPTHS OF PAVEMENT. PROVIDE A NEAT-UNE ClEAN SAW CUT EDGE OF 3 INCHES DEEP. REMOVAL OF ALL ASPHALT AND SAWCUTlNG IS 'SUBSIDIARY TO PAY ITEM 202(1).
4. SAW CUT EXISTING ASPHALT TO PROVIDE A CLEAN EDGE FOR JOINT WITH 'NEW ASPHALT.
5. ADJUST LOCATION OF NEW/EXISTING PAVEMENT JOINT AS NECESSARY AND AS APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER TO ALLOW USE OF STANDARD PAVING EOUIPMENT, AND SO THE JOINT FALlS EITHER ON THE LANE LINE OR THE t.lIDDLE OF THE LANE. LONGITUDINAL PAVEMENT JOINTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN EXISTING OR FUTURE WHEEL PATHS.
6. EXISTING UTIUT1£S ARE NOT SHOWN ON THESE PLANS. LOCATE AND PROTECT ALL NEW AND EXISTING ABOVE AND BELOW GROUND UTILITIES BEFORE BEGINNING WORK.
7. HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL ALlGNt.lENT WILL REQUIRE MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO MATCH FIELD CONDmONS. THESE ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE AS APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER.
S. EXISTING ASPHALT PAVEMENT WHICH IS REMOVED MAY BE DISPOSED OF OfFSlTE OR MAY BE USED AS BACKFILL ASPHALT PIECES USED IN THE EMBANKMENT SHALL BE REDUCED IN SIZE TO LESS THAN 3 INCHES IN ANY DIMENSION AND SHALL BE PLACED IN THE BOTTOM 2 FEET OF EMBANKt.lENT. BURIED ASPHALT SHALL NOT BE WITHIN 6 INCHES OF ANY SURFACE.
9. GRADE THE MEDIAN DITCH TO DRAIN AS APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER.
10. SEED ALL DISTURBED AREAS, WHICH ARE 2 FEET BEYOND THE EDGE OF PAVEMENTS. SEEDING IS SUBSIDIARY TO PAY ITEM 641(3).
