Bond Referendum Actions• Beginning in 2012 BoE and BoCC toured schools• BoE directed staff to conduct facility studies
(Penderlea; other needs) and growth study• June: BoE presented $67 million bond proposal;
BoCC requested increase to maintain Penderlea as K-8; BoE revised bond proposal to $75 million
• July: BoCC approved maximum $75 million bond proposal and requested community input; BoE held three community meetings
• August: BoCC – two meetings; approved bond referendum August 18

• Numbers may be even larger– Study was based only on subdivisions in

• Cost per square foot is increasing monthly
• Projects include computer infrastructure, traffic improvements, furniture, potential rising construction costs, etc.
• Savings of approximately $3 million due to internal project management
• The bond can be no more than $75 million, but it can be less
