Thank you to everyone who madethis production come together!
Theatre EtiquetteThe following tips are reprinted with permission from the communication arts program
at VSU. We hope theywill enrich your theatre experience.
Stay and show your appreciation.Aquick departure is noticed by everyone in theaudience, andespecially bytheperformers on stage. Making a mad dash for the exit expresses inconsiderate behavior. Theper-
Iformers CANseeyou,so please waituntil the house lights go up.
Hearing a pin drop.We are delighted iftheperformance proves to be"thetalk of the town", butplease waituntil intermission or final curtain to carry on lengthy conversations. In addition, every-
Ionewill certainly hearthesound ofa crumpling cellophane wrapper from a piece ofcandy. Why not "pop" your candy intoyour mouth before entering?
We were here... Where were you?Arriving late to the theatre is never considered "fashionably late." After theperformanceh«is begun, we will ask that latecomers wait until a suitable time before being seated. Thesame reminder applies at intermissions. Leaving yourseatduring the performance mayalso keep you from being allowed to re-enter until an appropriate time.
Lovely to look at... and preserve.Help us preserve the condition ofourtheatre by finishing All, snacks and beveragesbefore entering anddepositing any trash inanappropriate receptacle. Remember, NOFOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE THEATRE, and as always smoking ispermitted outside the building only.
The great "escape."|Just as you mentally leave your earthly boundaries and are transported toanother time•and place becoming onewith the performers, suddenly, your neighbor starts "beeping"Jlike a four alarm fire. Watches with alarms, cellular phones, and beepers are distractingand annoying to everyone. Please beconsiderate ofyour neighbors as you would expectthe same consideration from them.
Recording.IWe strictly prohibit the use ofany recording or photographic device.
Justin case.| Please notewhere the emergency exits in the theatre arc located andnotice any of your| fellow patrons that may need your help in an emergency.
And finally...Above all else, enjoy theshow. We arc certain you will, andweareglad youare here.
!Please joinus again soon, and often.

History ofTheatre Guild Valdosta
Theatre Guild Valdosta (TGV) was organized in 1989tlirough the efforts of the Lowndes/Valdosta ArtsCommission as an autonomous community theatergroup with non-profit, tax-exempt status. After threeyears as a group ofvagabond players with no "home,"the group purchased the old 'Dosta Tlieater buildingin 1992, and set about converting the dilapidatedmovie theater into a playhouse for live stageperformances.
Thanks to many supporters and one large benefactor,TGV now owns three adjoining buildings in historicdowntown Valdosta, performs four main stage shows,an evening of one-acts and two children's shows eachyear. All of this is done in order to provide high qualitytlieaterexperience to as diverse an audience and groupparticipantsas possible.
