Highlights of the Event Venue

• A decorative and welcoming main entrance – students standing on

side to greet and guide the visitors

•Fifteen booths will be spread out on south side of the gym assign to

different groups

•A conference area- to have open discussion on the global or cultural

issues

•A common area for people to hang out to mingle

•A big stage area for final celebration – A variety cultural program

Every visitor will receive a

“Thank You’ card by the

students who are standing at the

exit to show their appreciation

and gratitude for visiting the

special event!

Speaker’s Agenda•Present the layout of the venue to the audience

•School Principal will welcome all the guests- Special guest (Mayor of the town) school board members, administrators, teachers parents, local vendors, whole student body, Priests from different religious centers and volunteers

•Invitation cards: Need to be printed and send out

•Principal will introduce the agenda of the event on the day as follows:

•Mayor of the city will inaugurate the event ( a ribbon cutting ceremony)-declare the opening of the ceremony

•Talk about: the purpose of the event- highlight the importance of culturally responsive teaching in the multicultural community, provide information of the place and ways to find help if in needed during the event, and introduce

•Closing of the ceremony- A variety cultural program presented by the students

•A Thank you note by the assistant Principal

• Postures, banners, markers, paint, butcher paper, and brushes

• Printed over 500 invitation cards and thank you cards

• Portable laptop carts – 6

• Table, table throws, skirts, overlays, and runners

• Chairs and a conference table

• Lightweight banner walls- 15

• Vinyl Panel- 15

• Hooks, board pins, glue, masking & clear tapes

• One big TV screen• Music system• Video recorder• Pack of balloons• A podium• A DVD player or a computer• A Stage • Additional stuff to decorate the venue-

artificial flowers, decorative light bulbs and wall hangings, etc.

Culturally Responsive teaching will help increase Global Perspective of English Language Learners by:•Clears misconceptions, help discard biases and prejudices against other races and languages

• Makes learning more appropriate and meaningful

•Provides opportunities to be successful in mainstream classroom and actively participate in discussions

• Helps to comprehend and combine common applications of two languages in daily life

• Learn and acknowledge different ethnic groups problems from their perspective
