PROPOSAL FOR RELIGIOUS TOUR 2015
With reference to the above, I, on behalf of the student committee, would like to propose for a Religious
Tour to be held for this semester. The tour is to be held on 09 May 2015 (Week 13 of UniKL academic
calendar) and it will consist of visiting and video-interviewing of various religious houses in Malaysia.
All the activities will be organized by the Semester 4 Diploma Welding Technology students, who
participated in subject Religious Practices in Malaysia MPU2323, under the supervision of Dr. Zakaria
Osman as the subject’s lecturer, as one of our major assignments for this subject.
This assignment is to give students the practical exposure in the real practices of religious beliefs of
various religions in Malaysia. At the same time, students are also given the experience in organizing and
carrying out a tour. The details of the tour are in the proposal attached.

PROPOSAL FOR RELIGIOUS TOUR 2015
Introduction
In response to the Religious Practices in Malaysia MPU2323 subject’s requirement, and in line with the
need of providing more educational activities for the students, the Religious Practices in Malaysia
Student’s Committee are taking initiative to propose “Religious Tour 2015” which comprises of visiting
and video-interviewing of various religious houses in Malaysia, as listed in Table 1:

This project is required to be carried out by all participant of this subject for current semester under the
supervision of Dr. Zakaria Osman.
Benefits
This religious tour will not only help in enhancing student’s knowledge about religions in Malaysia, but
most importantly they will help to improve student’s self-confidence and understanding about the
practices of various religions in Malaysia. Generally, this tour will also help to develop stronger bonds
and tolerances among the inter-religious society of Malaysia.

Date, Time, and Places
The student committee plans to do the ‘Religious Tour’ on 09 May 2015 (Saturday, Week 13 of UniKL
academic calendar), from 07.00a.m. – 06.00p.m. at the places listed in Table 1 around Sentul area in
Kuala Lumpur. The schedule, permission letter, and also the permission approval letters for the visit are
attached as Appendix 1, Appendix 2, and Appendix 3 respectively at the Appendices section of this
proposal.
Objectives
The general aim of the ‘Religious Tour’ is to develop better understanding between various religions in
Malaysia. Specifically, it is to achieve the following objectives:
1. To comply with the MQA’s requirement for the subject Religious Practices in Malaysia
MPU2323.
2. To provide opportunities for students to develop their organizational and management skills.
3. To study the practices of various religions in Malaysia and their ways of life.
4. To develop higher tolerances between religions.
5. To foster closer relationship between different religions in Malaysia.
6. To create awareness of the importance in knowing other religions so that Malaysian will be
more thoughtful in their words and actions.
Organization Committee
The committee for the ‘Religious Tour’ will consist of all the Religious Practices in Malaysia students for
current semester. The lecturer of this subject, Dr. Zakaria Osman will be involved in supervising, assisting
and providing guidance to the students. The organization chart and the list of involved students are
attached as Appendix 4 and Appendix 5 respectively.
Budget
The list of budget is as attached in Appendix 6. The total cost of this tour is RM____. The sum of
student’s contribution is RM_____. Therefore, we are requesting for funds in amount of RM____ from
University Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute in order for us to complete this tour.
Conclusion
The ‘Religious Tour’ that is to be held will be the first ‘Religious Tour’ event to be organized by the
Student’s Committee of Religious Practices in Malaysia MPU2323 based on the requirement of the
Malaysian Qualification Agency to have more activities for the students. This tour will also contribute
towards improving Communication skill proficiency among the students. Therefore, your approval is
important with the hope that this tour will be carried out continuously every semester by the students.
