Vestry Person of the Month: My name is Kay Boland. I was born in Illinois and raised as a Methodist in a little town of 800 people, Woodhull, Illinois. I have five of the best brothers. I moved to North Carolina 23 years ago to enjoy the mountains, ocean, and everything in between.

I found All Saints' about 8 years ago when the Methodist church no longer supported my families spiritual needs. I currently provide foster care to a 10 year old and co-parent my grandchildren ages 11 & 13. Professionally I am a nationally certified Family Development Specialist & Career Development Specialist. I work with youth ages 16-24 who choose to work towards self-sufficiency by providing education and vocational training.

I am proud to be able to be on All Saints' vestry & make a difference. My fa-vorite quote is:

John Denver - “The Eagle And The Hawk" “Reach for the heavens and hope for the future and all that we can be and not

what we are.”

11th Annual Penick Village Art Show & Sale To support the Benevolent Assistance Fund at Penick Village

Mission Statement: “We are a family creating a loving community by making each day great for one another.”

As a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, this mission along with our vision of deinstitutionalization, is of great importance to the organization and influences each and every decision made. Both our vision and mission include our residents, their families, and our co-workers while also encompassing all elders in our community.

Galilee Center Screening of “After Spring”

Please join us on Thursday, February 16th in Galilee Center, 3601 Central Ave, Charlotte for a screening of “After Spring.” Screening starts at 6:30 PM.

“As the Syrian conflict enters its sixth year, millions of people continue to be displaced. After Spring is the story of what happens next. By following two refugee families in transition and an aid worker fighting to keep the camp running, viewers will experience what it is like to live in Zaatari, the largest camp for Syrian refugees. With no end in sight for the conflict or this refugee crisis, everyone must decide whether or not they can rebuild their lives in a place that was never meant to be permanent.”

Produced by Jon Stewart.

“The Saints Among Us” Carolyn Franzese Phillips, a member of the Communications Team, will be interviewing members of our parish and sharing their stories. We firmly believe that we can learn from and inspire each other. We hope that this leads to develop-ing deeper meaningful relationships beyond sitting next to each other at church.

So, we are embarking on this series entitled "The Saints Among Us" where we can delve a little deeper, share insights and hear some uplifting stories. This series will be made available at www.allsaintsconcord.org/saints-among-us/ as well as a link to it will be included in the Weekly Word.

Do you have a story that you’d like to tell? If so, please send an email to

[email protected] and let us know.
