Prop Work Prop’s for Defiance Trailer

Making the PropsI have made a variety of computerised props for our film trailer. These

props will be used in our trailer for brief shots but will help to establish the story and add to our sci-fi element. I created props such

as; a leader board, a note, a screen of station locations and a name tag. I also created a logo for the company which is in charge within our

trailer collaboratively with my partner, we created this logo together within a lesson.

The Note For one of the scenes in our trailer one of our characters had to read from a note to set the scene. This note included all the details of how our characters have been placed into groups and what they must do to survive. I created this note on my computer then sent it over to my iPad. We had the not on an iPad as we felt the technology would be far more advanced in the future, and paper note probably wouldn’t be used.

The Nametag We decided to create a nametag for one of our station workers. This was to show they were of low authority and needed identification. I was left in charge of making this name tag. I used Publisher in order to create a small template for a name tag. I then took pictures of our media teacher who is playing our station worker in our trailer, so that I could place these images to create and identification badge.

The screen of locationsAt the beginning of our trailer our station technicians look at a screen which contains stations from around the world, showing if they are ‘active’ or not. I created this to be displayed on a screen. I chose iconic locations from around the world. The countries I used were; Australia, India, Wales, Ireland, Russia, Italy, Spain, Germany and America.

The Leader BoardI created a leader board to be displayed in our trailer. This leader board displayed the ‘top 6’ within Station 21, where our trailer is based. I created two versions of the leader board the first is to show at the beginning, the second is about half way. Some of the characters pictures have been coloured black and white on the second version to show they have been ‘eliminated’ from the process.Version 1 Version 2

The Logo I made this company logo collaboratively with my partner. We made the logo to show that there is a company who controls the fate of our characters and has put them into the position they are in. We decided to name the company ‘pro-tech’ as we thought it sounded similar to ‘protect’ which is what the company feels they are doing, they feel the are protecting the world from over population by eliminating teens. The ‘tech’ at the end is because they are a worldwide technological company in charge of world technologies and gear for people.
