Our production didn’t demand the use of too many props. Only a few were needed along with the obvious ones such as the camera, headphones and microphones. We used many props in order to help portray our setting. Our location was a classroom and the use of tables, chairs and one sofa helped set our setting as the typical classroom. The sofa was the main prop we based our production on.

Sofa

The sofa was the main prop we used as our production was filmed and based mainly on the sofa. Here all the interactions between Sasha and Kevin (the main characters in our production) took place as well as all the conversation. We chose the sofa as it gave our actors somewhere comfortable to act on as well as allowing them to move freely so that their conversation would look more intimate.

Textbook

The textbook was a somewhat significant in our production as Kevin is seen to be placing the textbook on a table just before he starts to converse with his girlfriend, Sasha. The textbook portrays the typical teenager/sixth former in our production as students usually tend to have a lot of work to do, and the fact that Kevin is reading over a textbook shows that he may be doing some form of work before he starts talking to Sasha.

Mobile Phone

A mobile phone was briefly used in our production when Sasha had to interrupt Kevin and take a phone call. This helped us portray the typical form of a teenager as most teenagers would be very fixed on their phones as well as having their friends calling them a lot of the time.

Our classroom contained tables and chairs to help portray the typical setting of a classroom and fit in with the typical conventions of what a classroom should look like. The tables were used in our production just to help set the setting as no major filming included the tables/chairs being used apart from the part where Kevin places his textbook down on one.
