The BIT transformation project was initiated and led by the Director for Solution Development. The objective was to avoid being forced by the federal government to execute simplistic cost-cutting initiatives.

The „GO AgiLe!“ transformation project was initiated and led by the Director for Software Development. The Scaled Agile (SAFe) approach is the basis for agreement, planning and development of Releases and product content across WN divisions and global sites.
Transformation Objectives: " Bring „Fun and passion“ back into the development community
" Be capable of reacting to customer and market changes
" Spread requirements specification work across a longer timeframe
" Spread QA work across a longer timeframe
" Create more transparency of progress/work achieved
" Deliver more quickly and with higher quality
" Focus on the most important task first

The Volkswagen IT „Agile Community“ was initiated by one Programme/ Department Manager with 5 others in May 2011. It generates valuable results and is constantly gaining in strategic importance. As of 2012 it has a mandate to support the strategic Agile implementation initiative. 4 of the VW car brands involved since End 2012. Agile process model mandated since 2013.
