Promote and Publicize FCCLA!
Promote and Publicize FCCLA! is an individual or team event that recognizes participants who develop an FCCLA promotion and publicity campaign to raise awareness and educate the school, parents, and members of the community
about the importance of FCCLA and Family and Consumer Sciences education. The goal of this event is to provide FCCLA members with communications experience to make a difference by increasing membership, developing
partnerships, gaining Alumni & Associate involvement, promoting Family and Consumer Sciences education, gathering school and community support for their chapter, and contributing to the longevity of the organization and the relevance of its opportunities for members. Additionally, this event will increase member
awareness of careers in communications and public relations.

their lives.

Follow UpSuccess! We exceeded last year’s chapter
membership by ten students! But we also learned some things we can do differently in the future:
• Have an event at the end of the year for 8th grade students so they can get involved from the very beginning of their high school experience.• Have a “Family and Consumer Sciences Classes” night for freshmen and sophomores at the end of the year. It’s easier to get current FCS students involved than non-students, but students don’t really think about electives in our school until they are upper classmen.• We have to be as diligent about retaining members as we are about recruiting them. We need to have a follow up meeting at the end of the year for FCCLA members to tell us how we can make the organization better for their needs and to invite them to sign up for next year.
