Fashion continually changes. That’s kind of its thing. One year we are all craving pool slides, culottes and a wardrobe of black and white; the next it’s all about wild, colourful prints and body-con. But if there’s one thing that’s a safe bet whatever the season, it’s a good day dress, and the reason for this is that it’s never exactly in fashion and never exactly out of fashion. By a good day dress I mean a one-stop problem-solv-

er - flattering, comfortable and easy. Not a gala gown, not a sassy cocktail number.

I’m a total dress fan. They always get the most compliments (especially if they are in a beautiful print rather than a simple colour) and you can bring out your favourites year after year. There’s something about a woman in a pretty dress that most people find engaging, and now

that it’s spring, what better time to buy one to wear through the summer?
