    A Brief Background to Projekt X

    During the Nazis rise to power in the 1930s, Hitler pours a lot of money and resources into the development of

    Wonder weapons, Jet Aircraft, Super-Tanks and Rockets.

    They also set up a group under the code name Projekt X to develop The Ultimate Warrior.

    Projekt X are based in the southern mountains of Germany, and are left to their own devises.

    When war breaks out in 1939, Projekt X are ordered to prepare their work and be ready to get involved in Hitlers

    plan for World Conquest. At rst there is no urgency as the war goes well for Hitler, but following the disaster o

    the Invasion of Russia and the winter of 1942, Projekt X are ordered to bring the Wonder Weapons into service.

    What comes out is beyond most peoples comprehension, including the Nazis themselves. Many of the experiments

    have gone disastrously wrong, and the scientists of Projekt X have been dabbling with forces they barely understand

    The next 2 years see the Allies being attacked in small piecemeal actions by groups of undead, biomechanicalwarriors, Rocketeers and Soldiers wearing with Power Armour. The morale value of these nightmarish attacks far

    out ways the damage they inict, and the Allies strive to remove all survivors of these actions out of their units in

    an attempt to cover up the truth from the rest of the troops.

    As the War continues to go badly for Hitler, he charges Projekt X with the task of forming a National Redoubt

    in the Southern Mountains for the Nazis to have their last stand in. Using the best of the new weapons, their own

    creations and formations of fanatical SS and Luftwaffe, Projekt X set to their task.

    The ordinary, Christian inhabitants of Bavaria are none too happy with what they now experience. Were-wolves

    in the forests, demonic soldiers marching through their streets and the Dead walking again naturally cause some

    protest, which develops very quickly into resistance, attracting all opponents to the Nazis as well as opponents oProjekt X. The Allies begin to ship aid and Special Forces to the area to not only help but also spy on what exactly

    is happening within Projekt X.

    As the resistance becomes an uprising, Hitler orders Projekt X to clean up its own house.

    And there we leave Projekt X for the moment.

    Within this background, we have scope for a number of different actions. Firstly there is the uncounted number of

    attacks on all fronts by Projekt X on unsuspecting Allied forces. They will be small actions, within the attacks by

    conventional forces but not in co-operation with them. The aim of Projekt X, as well as actually still experimenting

    to see their creations in action, they will be seen as morale sapping hammer blows, that regular German forces will

    follow up to exploit. Its probably best that the regular German army doesnt come into contact with the Undead

    etc though! On the Eastern Front especially, Projekt X starts to be used as rear-guard. Leaving an army of Zombies

    in a village is a good way to hold up the Red Army advance, and the individual strength of the Power Armour

    Soldats can be a WW2 equivalent to the Viking hero on Stamford Bridge in 1066.

    When we move to the battle against the Resistance Army of Southern Germany, its pretty hopeless for the

    Resistance but they cant surrender. The Resistance is formed of local forces opposed to Projekt X, deserters from

    the Wehrmacht, escaped/ freed POWs and Allied Special Forces air-dropped in to help the ght. Arranged against

    them are all the forces of Projekt X.

    The Power Armour Soldats are the most fearsome of Projekt Xs soldiers. They are walking Armoured vehicles

    The compound of the armour makes them resistant to all small arms re, and most heavy weapons as well. Armour

    piercing can damage them, but of course they are a very small target for bazookas etc, with the added problem

    of them being able to see and dodge out of the way of any rockets red at them. They have a system of electronic

    sighting and night vision which makes their re-power deadly. One model is armed with a single shot rie that

    res a heavy armour- piercing bullet, the other model has a machine gun. Inside the armour is an X-Soldat.

    The weapon selection is shown for both models below, however, only one weapon may be chosen for play.

    * The x2 number in the wound chart means that if a model gets an armor save and passes the

    rst one, they must do it a second time due to the armor piercing nature of the round.

    Kruse is one of the very few X-Soldats that has a name. He was one of the original experiments, there is very

    little left of him that is esh but for some reason he continues to be alive, probably he incorporates something

    of Klauss zombie tests. His armour is an early model, with one arm a close combat claw, the other being an

    armour-piercing punch spike.

    If a model is grabbed by the claw (a successful close combat attack), they are held it its grip and

    must make a comparative BRAWN test to break free. Models caught in the claw, have their SH and DG

    The X-Soldats are the various miscreants produced by Dr Klaus in his many and varied experiments to create

    the ultimate warrior. What they have in common is their loss of humanity, they are all violent monsters with

    no obedience except to Dr Klaus and Projekt X ofcials. They are all un-humanly strong and able to take a lot

    more punishment that a normal soldier. It takes a lot of accurate re-power to bring them down.

    Skills: Cause Fear Grade 2 , Flamethrower: The amethrower rolls to hit normally. The player designates a target

    and any model within 3 of the target must also roll as though they are being shot at. You cannot shoot through mod-

    els.. So, if a model is between the target and the origin of the ame, it stops at the rst model. Also, if the Soldat rolls

    a 1 on its To Hit roll, the fuel has exploded like a Type III explosive and damage should be assignd accordingly

    SS wAlkurie

    They are an all female elite unit trained to use the experimental Jet Packs. The gures so far do not depict any

    wearing the pack or ying suit, but they are in the leather uniforms worn under the ying suits. All SS Walkurie

    also start off with a Rocket Pack so the model does not need to take the Use Invention ability.

    Dr Klaus is the leader of Projekt X. In appearance he has a gas mask over a scarred head, the result of some

    earlier diabolical experiment. He also has a kind of psychic power, producing energy bolts from his hands that

    he casts like reballs. Very dangerous, evil and unpredictable.

    Kipps is the scientic head of the SS department within Projekt X. Although under the command of Dr Klaus,

    in the usual style of Nazi organisation, different departments answer to different bosses and work to their own

    agendas. Kipps is working on his own style of X-Soldats, the Wehrwolves being the one result.

    Major Wunsche is a member of the SS parachute division. Attached to Projekt X, they are the foot soldiers of

    the SS department within the organisation. Wunsche, famous for his lm-star good looks, is one of the more evil

    and malevolent members of the Projekt X heirarchy He is usually given the eld command of large concentra-

    tions of Projekt X forces. He wears a form of body armour incorporating elements of the Power Armour suits,

    and is armed with an MP40.

    The Skull Guard is Dr. Klauss LifeGuard. Originally they were well trained soldiers dressed in a black uniform

    with their gloss black steel helmets having a white skull motif painted on the front. A large number of the regu-

    lar members of the regiment are still the same, but bit by bit new members are appearing in the ranks with steel

    masked faces. The specialist is trained as a crack-shot and is armed with a sniper rie.

    The model depicts one of the ceremonial Standard Bearers from the Skull Guard, unlike any other modern army

    the Skull Guard have been known to carry the standards on the battleeld.

    The characters presented here may or may not match up with archetypes presented in previous .45 Adventure

    supplements. An Axis Ofcer listed here may have different abilities than those presented for the Axis Ofcer

    inAmazing War Stories. The reason for this is that these stats were designed specically for Projekt X. Everyattempt was made to keep these gures comparable to their Grade levels, but some liberties were taken in order

    to capture the intent of the original Projekt X characters.

    As this is a work in progress and new models will be added as they are released, players should feel free to

    comment and send feedback based on their own gaming experiences.

    In order to add the Projekt X zombies and any additional military types, players should refer to theAmazing War

    Stories supplement and build their characters accordingly. An Allied and Resistance Dossier will also be available

    for the the Allied answer to Germanys Projekt X Division.
