FAN BASES

FAN AND DISPLAY BASESFAN LAMPS make attractive accent lights and night lights. The Book of Fans (#1393) has plenty of design ideas. All fan and project bases have complete cord/switch/socket assembly included. You may use either 40 watt candelabra bulbs (#6498) or 4 watt Nite Lite bulbs (#6497). Bulbs are NOT included with Fan Lamp Bases. Find bulbs page H-8 of the Lamp Hardware section.

ANTIQUE BRASS FAN BASE (#4195) is your basic fan base. Simple and elegant cast metal with antique brass finish.

FAN BASE CORD SET (#4187) is handy for those who make their own fan bases, or as a replacement cord should the cat chew up the original. Fully wired with plug, switch, socket and clip to hold socket on base.

ART DECO FAN BASES need only a striking piece of glass behind the figures to create a dramatic lighting fixture. These bases are finished in antique brass and are slotted to hold your glass panel. Order using the catalog numbers below each illustration.

TABLE LANTERN KIT (#4188) contains the electrical parts needed to make up your Table Lantern as described in the Aanraku book series: Table Lanterns 1 (#14135), Table Lanterns 2 (#14137) and Table Lanterns 3 (#14138). HELPFUL HINT: We recommend that you purchase your frame BEFORE you make your panel to assure proper fit. Installing your work will be easier if you border your panel with 3/8” or 1/4” flat “H” lead came which can be easily trimmed if necessary.

FRAMING STOCKFor do-it-yourselfers try Northern Hardwood’s oak framing stock and specialized stained glass mounting hardware. All framing stock is Red Oak, specially selected for quality. The strength of oak and the clean lines of this framing stock will give your panel the support it needs without attracting attention away from your glass. This framing stock is made to be seen from either side, as there are no moulding strips to detract from appearances.

FRAMING STOCK has a groove 3/8” deep by 5/16” wide to accept your stained glass panel. The 5/16” width of the groove allows for a lead or zinc came border on your piece. The depth of the groove lets you use 1/4” zinc or lead U came without having the metal show. If you wish to have a metal “reveal” or inner border showing, use 1/2” or wider U came. See drawings for cross sections of framing stock and outside dimensions. COPPER FOIL FRAMING STOCK for copper foil work is also made by Northern Hardwoods. Instead of a 5/16” wide groove for your glass, this special framing has a 3/16” groove.
