18 weeks RTT

The Complete Solution Project Source are at the forefront of delivering RTT solutions that not only

reduce your pathway backlogs, resolve your data quality issues and

increase your performance, but our solutions will also ensure that you never

need to go through a large validation exercise again!

In short, by partnering with Project Source, you will be left with a

manageable, fit for purpose PTL that will not require large scale validation in

the future. Our solutions will help improve both your internal and external

reporting, helping you manage and prioritise your patients effectively, and

most importantly, keep you out of the spotlight when it comes to Monitor

and TDA.

Our solution can be tailored to your needs. All of the steps in this process

can be implemented individually or in any combination, so even if you just

wanted to utilise our unique RTT Support Desk, you can. We can simply

perform PTL analysis or conduct an Audit to help ensure what you are doing

is correct. If you just wanted to use our RTT Trainers or only need a few

validators, we can provide them too.

Whatever you need within the RTT arena, let Project Source know and we

will provide you with the right solution.

At Project Source, we firmly believe that our solutions are unrivalled on the

market and provide value for money. An investment which will save the Trust

far more money in the long run!

Project Source’s RTT Solution

A single journey through this solution will ensure you have everything you

need to manage RTT yourselves. It will reduce, and in time, negate your

reliance on external validators, thus saving you money.

You would then be in a position to simply audit your staff every few months to

stay on top of your PTL.

As staff leave and new staff join, your in-house knowledge can be supported

by Project Source with expert training on an ad-hoc basis, keeping your costs

low.

Refresher training and continued support from Project Source can ensure RTT

remains in the forefront of the minds of your staff and regular auditing can

ensure lessons learnt are implemented until best practice becomes the norm.

Our Complete Solution

SMART validation Project Source hand picks an elite team of validators to start working

through your PTL backlog. All of our validators are fully trained in-house in 18

Weeks RTT and wherever possible we will ensure they have previous

experience of your PAS system.

The SMART approach

Specific – Using our analysis to target specific cohorts of patients

Measurable – PTL analysis pre and post validation will track the results

Achievable – Data analysis will allow us to predict achievable outcomes

Realistic – Previous experience using this approach has proven results

Timely – Our experienced validators process 60+ pathways a day

PTL Analysis Our experienced RTT specialists will analyse your most recent PTL and

establish which specialties or cohorts of patients require immediate

attention, where any data quality issues may lie, and where the quickest

results can be achieved.

Based on this analysis, Project Source will then direct or supplement the

existing team with expert validators who have experience of the specialties

concerned as well as your PAS system. Due to this knowledge and

experience, they make a rapid impact on the areas that have been

identified.

Audit Once the validation process is up and running, Project Source will provide an

experienced RTT Auditor who will audit the work of the team and substantive

staff. This will include looking at the data entered onto your PAS system, and

the actions taken e.g. use of incorrect RTT statuses, duplication of pathways,

missed administrative clock stops or clock pauses. By auditing the findings of

the validations performed, Project Source can further pinpoint issues to

differentiate between those that can be remedied by training from those

that are processes which need refining and standardising.

Training & SOP Development Based on the original analysis and audit work carried out, Project Source

can then deliver tailored training programmes for staff who are involved in

RTT. Everyone from booking clerks, validation staff and administrative staff

through to clinicians, can be trained to ensure everyone has the requisite

knowledge of 18 Weeks RTT and the clock rules. This should drastically

reduce the number of errors being made, and as a result the future

validation exercises are kept to a minimum.

Classroom style training is offered in combination with desk side training,

allowing further guidance on real scenarios. Standard Operating

Procedures can be developed to address any process gaps as well as

reviewing existing ones to ensure 18 Week RTT guidance is inherent.

RTT Helpdesk During this training programme, all of your staff will have access to Project

Source’s unique RTT Helpdesk Desk. Our RTT experts are on hand to give

guidance and definitive advice to your staff on the correct application of

18 Weeks RTT rules to pathways.

Once the training programme has been completed, the RTT Support Desk

will still be available to you for a further month. If you would like to utilise the

support desk for a longer period, a Support agreement can be arranged.

Performance and DQ Dashboard Our RTT Consultants, together with our technical team, have developed a

dashboard to monitor and predict performance and manage data

quality. The dashboard provides a PTL analysis service, reviewing RTT data

and performing queries to identify data quality or process issues and to

enable the management of patients’ waiting times and performance

against the National 18 Weeks target.

As well as the data quality and performance indicators the dashboard has

functionality to capture and record validation outcomes, providing the

means to recall historic data to avoid duplication, track changes and

allow process issues to be identified and addressed.

Reports and queries are presented at a variety of levels from high level

management reports to patient level drill down and worklists. With each

new data snapshot the dashboard builds up a picture of performance

over time, allowing further trend analysis to be undertaken.
