WORK AT TCL:
THE PROJECTS ON A BROAD SCALE ARE INVOLED WITH APPLICATIONS OF SDH
AND DWDM TECHNOLOGIES TO METROPOLITAN, NATIONAL AND
INTERNATIONAL FIBER LINKS.
GSPI IN TCL:
INVOLEVD WITH THE “GLOBAL SERVICES AND PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION”
DEPT. WHICH CARRIES OUT THE INSTALLATION AND TESTING OF THE
EQUIPMENTS.
PROJECTS HANDLED
1. NATIONAL LONG DISTANCE PROJECTS (NLD’s)
• All-India Scope Project.
•Enhancing the existing connectivity and providing a much higher bandwidth to customers.
•Regularly running projects.
•Activities Include NODE INSERTION, NODE COMMISSIONING AND LINK MIGRATION.
•Equipment used are provided by HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES – China.
NLD – 11A:
Scope:
1. Mumbai – Kolhapur & Mumbai – Edilabad Link Enhancement.
2. Node Installations at
a. Rahimatpura
b. Malegaon
c. Khambala.
3. Migration Activities of the above links.
NLD – 11B:
Scope:
1. Mumbai-Hyderabad & Mumbai-Pune Link Enhancement.
2. Migration Activities – Mumbai-Pune : 6 Live Frequencies Migration.
2. GLOBAL HOSTED CONTACT CENTER (GHCC) – INDIA
Scope:
• Strategic Project of TCL in both National and International business fronts.
• Aims at providing customers the equipment and data center environment on lease to host,
store and access their data.
• Three National Centers: Two at Hyderabad and One at Pune and International Centers at
Singapore, U.S.A. & U.K. (Protection centers at HYDERABAD & SINGAPORE)
• Installation of all the required Equipment, their power on and assistance in Acceptance test
procedure.
• All required Physical Implementation of the Network Map is to be done by TCL.
3. METROPOLITAN AREA NETWORK (MAN)
Scope:
•A metro level project – operating in TIER-1 cities
•Mainly focus - providing better bandwidth to the customers in that city.
•@Pune – Work Sites:
a. Dighi PoP MEGA PoP
b. Shivajinagar PoP (Kubera Towers)
c. Pune Station PoP (P.T.Gera Towers)
d. Hinjewadi PoP (Shobha Develpoers)
•Router Connectivity Migrations, Channel Re-alignment activities.
•Equipment Vendors – ALCATEL LUCENT (routers)

- ADVA (fsm’s)

4. INTERNATIONAL DATA CENTER – INTERNET LEASE LINE (IDC-ILL)
Scope:
•Scope only at Dighi site.
•Providing Internet Lease line to the Data Center customers.
•Installation of MUX and Switches to connect the International Transmission Management
Center (ITMC) to the International Data Center (IDC).
•Always running as there are new customers.

•Node Installation & Acceptance test at Rahimatpura & Pune Sites for NLD 11A project.
•Frequency Migration between Mumbai-Pune for NLD-11B project.
•Site-Survey, Installation, Power-On and Server Configuration for the GHCC project.
•Physical Implementation of the Network Map for the GHCC project.
•MUX, Switch & Router Installation configuration for the IDC ILL project.
•Migration Activities and Channel Re-alignment Activity under MAN-Phase-2 project.
•NON TECHNICAL: Material Planning and Escalation Management.

Setting the Ethernet IP, Subnet mask and router ID on the equipment
Entering the NE level data
Verify the serial nos. of the cards and pluggable modules of the equipment
Setting the equipment date and time
Nominate a synchronization reference clock to a NE
Backing up or restoration of the equipment configuration data

Install and Power-On the Server
Install the software drivers provided
Enter the REMOTE IP provided
In the DELL-NMS, Install the required Operating System
Commit the required Code in the blade server slots
EXPERIENCE GAINED
Technical Experience:
•Handling the Networking Devices like: Switches, Routers, Multiplexers and few Servers.
•Hands-on experience in activities pertaining to the Telecom field.
•Learning New Concepts like SDH & DWDM.
Non-Technical Experience:
•A proper look-into the Corporate Atmosphere
•Handling situations on-site independently
•Project Management Skills and Behaviour with Senior Officials.
